Ferrum College saved him.

Zeke Keel, a wrestling champion in high school, needed financial aid in order to attend college. He received a scholarship to a larger university but did not feel at home there. He felt lost and lacking the support he needed for success. He was ready to give up on college and quit his wrestling career – until he discovered Ferrum College. Zeke shared that transferring was the best decision he has made.

Zeke was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2026 NCWA Mid-Atlantic Conference Wrestling Championships in early March and became Ferrum College’s first-ever national champion at the 2026 NCWA National Championships on March 28 in Louisiana. It would not have been an option without the financial aid he is receiving.

In his own words:
“It has been amazing coming to a place where I feel genuinely supported.” Needless to say, receiving the financial aid he needed and coming to Ferrum College have kept his wrestling career and dreams alive.

If you’ve already made a gift this fiscal year, thank you! You are a part of stories like Zeke’s.

We need your urgent help to open more doors. Will you help open the door for another student today?

This spring, Ferrum College launched a free Personal Training Program at the Fitness Center, co-sponsored by the Health and Human Performance Program and the Employee Wellness Program through Human Resources.

The initiative gives Health and Human Performance interns valuable hands-on experience while helping students, faculty, and staff build confidence in the gym, set fitness goals, and create sustainable workout routines for long-term wellness. 🏋️‍♀️✨
