Join us for a night of community and story telling with those directly & indirectly impacted by the criminal legal system. Have a song, poem, story, or other share you'd like to bring? Join us

Thank you to everyone who came out to this month’s community meeting. We’ve started on our annual holiday card drive for those incarcerated in local jails. We have a goal of 1,500 cards to make this year and we need as much help as we can get.

You can drop by to create cards or drop them off anytime during AJRC office hours from 10am - 2pm Monday through Friday. (203 N College Ave). * Please note that we use a specific paper and have requirements on what can be accepted into the jails- we will provide you with blank cards and instructions to take with you*

What solutions do you want to see in Arkansas to reduce prison beds?

Let's remember that policy decisions are what got us to this point.
--Reinstating Emergency Powers Act (EPA) would reduce the prison population by around 3,600
--Parole is BROKEN. Over 80% of people are being denied at their estimated date of release despite being in good classification and meeting outlined requirements.
--Elder parole- those 55+ who have served 10+ years would be reviewed for possible release

Couldn’t be happier to have Julie as part of the team. She’s always willing to lend a hand, to learn som**hing new, and to especially work towards Justice for some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

The world and the attorney field needs more folks like Julie.

Since September of 2025, the number of ICE arrests in Washington County has risen to an 1,162. That's more people than. many Arkansas towns....just disappearing from their loved ones.

When local jails sell beds to federal agencies, more of our neighbors disappear as it is easier to take people from street to jail to immigration detention...often in 24 hours.
