Earlier this month, our Ms. Indigenous San Juan College, Rhianna Carel, attended the Ute Mountain Ute powwow, where she danced and proudly represented our college. She was also invited to judge the Bear Dance parade, which featured creative floats and many smiling faces.

On Tuesday, the College Council held its monthly meeting at the School of Energy. This Council's membership is composed of administrators, elected representatives from the college's official employee associations, and members of the student government.

In support of raising awareness of cultural traditions, the College Council asked if we could educate, demonstrate, and assist members of the Council in understanding and making fry bread!

The meeting and workshop was a tremendous success and we thank everyone who attended. Special thanks to the College of Energy and our students for their involvement in making this happen.
