Until they find their families, they're a part of ours. We provide medical treatment including vaccinations and sterilization to all animals prior to adoption.

Since 1974, our purpose has been to provide temporary care and shelter to stray, homeless, and abandoned animals. FCAS serves the community as an adoption facility where loving families and pets needing homes come together. The shelter strives to educate the public in the proper care of pets including increasing public awareness of the companion animal overpopulation issue.

Today's enrichment activity was bobbing for apples, and it was definitely a hit-or-miss! Some knew exactly what to do, and some were just thirsty, but it was lots of fun for everyone involved!

We are so honored that Willow chose to ask for donation toys for the dogs and cats here at FCAS for her birthday! She and her mom brought in this huge haul, and we are very thankful that they took the time to bring these in. The future is bright, with children who care like this in our community! 🐾🎃💕

Good morning, Franklin County! Yes, it’s Halloween, but it’s also the end of Ben’s week as "Dog of the Week", and we wanted to make sure you saw how strong, healthy and handsome this sweet boy is, and he even smiled for the camera!

To schedule a meet-and-greet with Ben, or any of our available dogs, call 12-4 pm at 207-778-2638. 🐾❤️

Turkey girl is next! She's so dainty, she needed a completely different presentation - and enjoyed every second of it!

The dog staff have carved up some tasty pumpkin treats for the dogs, so they can be included in celebrating Halloween safely! Pumpkins are not only tasty, but also help fight parasites, so check with your vet to see if your pet can enjoy a pumpkin snack this season!

**Please note that all of our available dogs are listed on our website here: www.fcanimalshelter.org/our-animals and you can find full dog bios with more info there!
