We should remember that Joseph McDonnell was appointed with no real input from the faculty at UMF.

We are incredibly skeptical of his creative solutions, given his past as provost at USM when 50 faculty positions and two academic programs were cut in 2014. We have no reason to trust him.

Rep. Rebecca Millett called out Dannel Malloy’s patronizing and disrespectful framing of legitimate faculty concerns.

Malloy’s contract has been extended into July. On July 11th, the board of trustees will decide the status of his long-term contract. We urge the board of trustees to consider Malloy’s dishonesty regarding the UMA presidential search, the faculty cuts at UMF, and student responses from across the system.

We deserve a better chancellor.
