Bonita's behind on posting, but this one's worth sharing late! Attended FAB26 at MIT thanks to Sal and Chinloo Lama, exploring what's next for CES Changemakers. Got to spend the day with new CES Board Member Anthony Mariello of Bridge The Gap Consulting which was amazing! First few photos are from arriving at Kresge Auditorium on MIT's campus (traffic hasn't improved a bit in 19 years since I left Boston! Once inside the Campus, we got to see Incredible work happening at every level — robotics, 3D printing, AI, all pushing the boundaries of what's next. Huge thanks to SOLIDWORKS for sponsoring our ticket, and to Chinloo and Sal for making it happen!

Business is serious at CES! Two Changemakers created, revised, and even laminated their own agreement to protect their 3D printing ideas. Negotiation, boundaries, and entrepreneurship in action. We could not be prouder!

At CES, being a Changemaker is about so much more than learning business skills. It is about developing empathy, practicing thoughtfulness, and learning how to lift one another up.

We hope the relationships formed through the Changemaker Program continue long after the program ends, whether our young people become professional colleagues, business partners, mentors, or lifelong friends. Those connections matter.

We are already seeing that spirit in action. Younger Changemakers are learning alongside older youth, exploring 3D printing, sharing ideas, solving problems, and teaching one another through genuine peer-to-peer learning. Just as importantly, they are learning how to support one another as people.

Recently, Bonita forgot to pick up a birthday cake. Before there was even time to panic, our Changemakers jumped into action. They made sure the cake was purchased and that their fellow Changemaker was properly celebrated on his birthday.

It may seem like a small gesture, but it represents something much bigger: awareness, kindness, teamwork, and the willingness to step up when someone needs you.

Thank you to our CES Changemakers for the thoughtfulness you show one another. We are incredibly proud of the young people you are today and the leaders, colleagues, and friends you are becoming. ❤️

A huge thank you to Leah Gordon of Mountain Mama of Maine for sharing her knowledge with our CES Changemakers!

Leah joined us at Whittier Road to teach proper harvesting techniques, explain the drying process, and demonstrate how plants can be infused into oil. It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience for our young people.

We are proud to carry Leah’s products at CES, and she will be returning for another Essential Oil educational session on Sunday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m.

Youth and parents are encouraged to attend. Please text 207-899-6901 or email [email protected] to reserve your spot so we have enough space ready to host you. Thank you again, Leah!

A huge CES thank you to Andrew Moffitt of Nordic Construction for partnering with our CES Changemakers and helping our organization in more ways than we can count.

From landscaping, mowing, planting, power washing, repairs, light construction, installation, gardening, and trimming trees, Andrew brings skill, patience, humor, and a whole lot of know-how to CES.

He is also helping youth learn, and adding “protecting us from scary bees” to his resume. Bonus points for learning about beekeeping along the way.

Thank you, Andrew, for showing up, sharing your knowledge, and helping CES Changemakers grow stronger from the ground up. 🌱

CES Changemakers Ian and Calvin spent time at Whittier Rd. planting seeds, pulling weeds, and helping care for the raised garden beds.

With support from volunteers Bessa Axelrod and Bonita Tompkins, they are learning self-sufficiency while helping make a difference in the community.

Little by little, seed by seed, CES Changemakers are growing something good. 🌱
