A synod is a group of people on the way together. The word "synod" comes from the Greek words: syn meaning together, and hodos meaning the way. We are made up of over 180 congregations, 2 campus ministries, 2 outdoor ministry sites, a number of specialized ministry teams, baptized members, and rostered ministers spread out across the eastern third of the state. The synod covers approximately the eastern third of the state of North Dakota and is divided into eight conferences:
1. Prairie Rose
2. Spirit Lake
3. Grafton
5. Grand Forks
6. Jamestown
7. Mayville
8. Wahpeton

Explore these and other questions in the context of our faith, with other wonderers through storytelling, introspection, and studying of Scripture.

This online event will provide guidance and an intentional space for those who want to explore how God is calling them to serve (i.e. pastor, deacon, SAM, lay leader).

On this Election Day, we pray for our communities, our nation, and the responsibility we share in caring for one another.

Gracious God, we give thanks for the gift of democracy and the responsibility we share in shaping our communities. Guide us as we exercise our right to vote, that our decisions may be rooted in wisdom, compassion, and love for our neighbors. Where there is division, open hearts to understanding. Where there is uncertainty, give us courage and hope. Remind us that we are called to love and serve one another, trusting in your presence among us. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Today, quiet our fears and open our hearts.

Guide us to act with compassion, listen with humility, and recognize the dignity of every person.

Protect those who cast their votes and those who administer our elections. Strengthen our commitment to truth, fairness, and the common good.

As ballots are cast and counted, help us remember that our neighbors are never our enemies.

Whatever the outcome, remind us that our calling remains unchanged: to love our neighbors, serve those in need, seek justice, and work for a more peaceful world.

May your Spirit guide us today and in all the days ahead.
