Another milestone for one of our scouts! Molly was elected and inducted into the Order Of the Arrow a few weeks back. The OA as it is often referred to is the honor society of scouting. This past weekend, she along with her father Tim, who is a member of the troop committee, attended New England Fellowship weekend at Hidden Valley Scout Reservation in New Hampshire. This is a yearly event where OA lodges from around New England gather, attend leadership meetings and have fun.

As the pioneer OA member of T236, I can imagine this adventure may have been intimidating. Not knowing anyone, far from home, being a new member, but Molly reported that is was a great experience.

We are very proud of you Molly! Keep trying new things and exploring even if you have to blaze the path!

Please join us in congratulating several of our scouts on the successful completion of their board of reviews! Emma and Lilly completed First Class and Elise completed Second Class! It is our goal to guide everyone of our scouts to the First Class rank. This accomplishment shows a scout has gained proficiency in basic scouting skills as well as service to others and the community. Second Class is a pivotal rank where basic outdoor skills begin to be perfected. We are proud of all of you!

Thank you to our commitee chair Kristen Rathjen, commitee member Tim Otoole, Erinn Riker and guest reviewer Erin Baumgartle from Pack 36 for being on tonight’s Board of Review!

236 is at JN Webster scout reservation this weekend. We have been working on the cooking merit badge, learning together and enjoying some really good creations. We also traveled to Purgatory Chasm and enjoyed a short 2 mile hike and a trailside hot lunch. This evening, we chilled out in camp and baked biscuits in the dutch oven for tomorrow’s breakfast. Everyone has been wonderful and are ready for bed!

Tonight, Troop 236 scouts prepared for our upcoming campout and continued work on the Citizenship in the Community merit badge with Mr. Viera. They had some time at the end for some monkeying around.
