Pendleton County Champions Coalition In 1996 "Champions for a Drug Free Kentucky" was established. The Pendleton County Champions Coalition was chartered in July 2003.

Our mission is to address the issues of substance abuse and behavioral health, as well as implement long-term strategies to promote harm reduction among youth and adults in our community. Its mission: "To promote the prevention of the abuse of alcohol, to***co, and other drugs and the reduction of violence in Kentucky communities." Today, Champions for a Drug Free Kentucky is a network of anti-drug coalitions found in every geographic region of the Commonwealth.

A lot of time in the field of drug prevention and education, you only hear of the “bad.” But it’s important to highlight the good as well!

Kentucky is going on its 4th consecutive year of seeing a decline in overdose deaths. That is definitely something worth highlighting. Check out this article ❤️⬇️

Lowest number of deaths related to drug overdose since 2014

Pendleton County High School and Champions recently hosted a Sources of Strength Field Day, bringing students together to celebrate the many supports that help us stay healthy, hopeful, and connected. Throughout the day, different tables were set up around the gym, each representing one of the Sources of Strength in which activities were facilitated by our Sources of Strength Peer Leaders! Students rotated through the stations, participating in hands-on activities that highlighted the importance of family support, positive friends, mentors, healthy activities, generosity, spirituality, mental health, and physical health.

From making friendship bracelets, to making paper flower bouquets, to making personalized sleep goals door hangers, and so much more, every station offered a meaningful way for students to engage with the idea that we all have strengths we can rely on. The event not only promoted wellness but also strengthened the sense of community across our school. It was a fun, active reminder that no one has to face challenges alone—we all have sources of strength to lean on.

And not to mention…a HUGE inflatable obstacle course and inflatable axe throwing game to add extra fun to the day!!

We love being part of moments that matter at Pendleton County High School ❤️🖤🤍

With Prom this weekend, Champions partnered with PCHS to help bring important safety conversations to students today. We were excited to welcome Carol Lucio from SADD and Sheriff Brewer from the Pendleton County Sheriff’s Department for hands-on activities with our students centered around seatbelt safety and making responsible choices to prevent underage drinking.

Students participated in a “Quick Click” seatbelt challenge and experienced impairment goggle activities that highlighted how quickly judgment can be affected when consuming alcohol.

We’re proud to support schools in creating not only fun experiences, but safer ones too.

Have an incredible Prom weekend, Wildcats! Make memories, and most importantly, stay safe!

We came, we read, we crafted, we conquered! 🤩

Our PCHS Sources of Strength Peer Leaders visited our elementary schools for Kindness Day yesterday and all of the students had a blast! We have been doing this every year for the last several years and our Peer Leaders really enjoy talking with the kiddos.

They read a book to each classroom and created a paper chain link of kindness to display in the hallways and/or the classrooms.

We wish every day was Kindness Day 💖
