💛🦃 Help us put a holiday meal on the table for families in our community

Every year, our Annual Turkey & Ham Giveaway provides local families with a turkey or ham for their holiday meal. For many households, the extra cost of the holidays means choosing between celebrating and covering everyday needs. This tradition helps ease that choice.

This year, the most helpful thing you can give is a frozen turkey.
A note on food safety: please bring frozen turkeys and any refrigerated items straight from the store to the pantry after purchase, so they stay safely frozen or cold until they reach a family.

‼️ Please donate unopened, unexpired items ‼️

We're also collecting holiday meal essentials so families can enjoy a complete Thanksgiving meal:
Sides: boxed mashed potatoes or stuffing, canned green beans, canned corn, yams or sweet potatoes, boxed macaroni and cheese, dinner rolls or shelf-stable bread
Fixings: turkey gravy (packets, jars, or cans), canned cranberry sauce, cream of mushroom soup, French fried onions, marshmallows
Desserts: canned pumpkin or pie filling, pie crust mix or shelf-stable crusts, holiday dessert mixes
Kitchen supplies: disposable aluminum roasting pans and baking pans

Drop-off: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM

EFAP Week! 🥑

This week, Fallbrook Food Pantry is one of nearly 90 sites across San Diego County distributing food through the Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP).
Here's how it works. USDA purchases the food, the San Diego Food Bank delivers it to partner sites like ours, and our team makes sure it reaches our neighbors in Fallbrook.

The food arrives at no cost to us. Everything it takes to get it into our neighbors' hands does not. Unloading deliveries, storing food safely, staffing distribution all week long, and keeping our doors open, under a roof that needs repair, all depend on community support. Fallbrook Food Pantry does not receive government funding to run our programs. That work is made possible by donors and volunteers like you.

If you or someone you know could use extra groceries, EFAP distribution runs Monday through Friday this week, 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, plus Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. No pantry card is needed.

Every meal, every grocery bag, and every program we offer is made possible by neighbors like you: local donors, businesses, volunteers, and community partners. Our community is the reason our doors stay open.

Your health matters here too 💙

Most Tuesdays, nursing students from Cal State San Marcos (CSUSM) join us at the pantry to offer free health services to our neighbors. While you pick up groceries, you can stop by for blood tests, and a friendly conversation about your well-being.

San Diego PACE is also here to help you or a loved one sign up for their programs. PACE supports adults 55 and older with medical care, in-home help, transportation, and more, so they can keep living safely in their own homes. If you've been wondering whether PACE is a good fit for your family, this is a great chance to ask questions in person.

A big thank you to the volunteers who keep our produce station running every week! 🍊
Before a single family comes through our doors, this team is hard at work sorting through fresh fruits and vegetables, setting aside the best of each delivery, and bagging it up so every household leaves with something fresh and healthy. They also handle our eggs with care, checking and packing them so they make it home in one piece. Say hi to Jake, our egg man! (Pictured right)

It's hands-on work, and it makes a real difference for the families we serve. We couldn't do it without you.

🌧 This weekend's rain put our roof to the test, and thanks to a temporary patch from our partners at 7-40 Roofing, it held. No new damage this time. But a patch is only a short-term solution. Our roof protects everything that happens inside our building: the food on our shelves, the volunteers who sort and pack it, and the families who come through our doors every week. That's why we launched Under One Roof, to give our building a lasting repair before the next storm. Every gift goes toward roof repairs and keeping our doors open.

Who knew so much love could fit under one roof!

Every gift to Fallbrook Food Pantry helps a neighbor here in our community. Our Under One Roof campaign helps protect those gifts by repairing the roof that keeps our food, our volunteers, and the families we serve safe and dry.

Fallbrook Food Pantry is excited to offer Rooted in Wellness, an 8-week educational class designed to provide practical, evidence-based education and support for individuals living with diabetes or anyone looking to better understand and manage their health.

Throughout the class, participants will explore topics including:

- A1C
- Medications
- Dietary Restrictions & Healthy Substitutions
- Fitness
- Mental Wellness

We are pleased to welcome Molly Swann, Registered Dietitian, who will provide instruction in English, and Noemi Cisneros, Doctorate in Occupational Therapy in Diabetes, who will provide instruction in Spanish.

A first-hand account of positive change! 🧡

It can be hard to see the impact of a single donation, a few hours of volunteering, or one bag of groceries dropped off at our door. But from where we stand, we see it every day. We see it in the relief on a parent's face when they know their family is taken care of this week. We see it in neighbors who walk in stressed and walk out a little lighter.

And some of the most meaningful moments take years to show up. Children who once went home from the pantry with food are now coming back, grown up, asking how they can help.

That's the difference you make, Fallbrook. Thank you for showing up for your neighbors, month after month. We're ending September grateful for every one of you.
