🐈🐈‍⬛In honor of National Cat Day, we'd like you to meet Onyx and Peanut!🐈‍⬛🐈

These two came to us when their owner became too ill to care for them… and they never leave each other’s side.

Onyx (female, black long hair, 4 years old), is a shy, anxious girl. When she meets new people or is in a new place, her first instinct is to find the closest place to hide and hope you can’t see her.

Peanut, (male, tabby and white, 2 years old) on the other hand, is super outgoing and loves people. He’ll climb right into your lap -or onto your desk- and make biscuits on you.

Peanut is Onyx’s rock. Her safe space. Her security blanket. Once Peanut decides he wants to be around you, Onyx softens and becomes more comfortable. She looks to him for guidance and reassurance… which is why we’re not going to separate them, and we’ll wait for the right person to come along who understands their relationship and will commit to adopting both of them.

Did you know that some of the most needed items in the shelter aren’t actually blankets, towels, or toys? Some of the things we run out of the fastest are cleaning supplies to make sure our animals have a safe and healthy environment while they’re here, as well as a welcoming space for the public.

The top 5 things we need are:
• Bleach
• Laundry detergent
• Windex
• Hand soap
• Dryer sheets

Please help us keep our animals healthy! Anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated.

Does everyone remember Moo, our goofy, fetch obsessed pittie boy? Well he's still available, but...

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous supporter, Moo's adoption fee has been SPONSORED!

This boy doesn't deserve to be cooped up in a kennel, and we're so happy we could remove that barrier for a loving family to be able to take him home.

🚨Friends of Faxon, we need your help. 🚨

This is little miss Maisie.

Maisie had surgery this past weekend, but unfortunately her incision site became infected and we needed to take her in for emergency care to have it taken care of, which means a pretty hefty vet bill.

This sweet little baby has an amazing family waiting to take her home, but she needs to stay with us while she finishes up her treatments.

Any little bit helps, and we're so grateful!

We’re looking for some dedicated animal lovers to fill some volunteer positions so we can make sure our animals' environment is kept safe and healthy, and so potential adopters feel welcome in the shelter.

These shifts can be separated among volunteers as long as the entire time slot is covered.

Sweet Benny Boy is officially ADOPTED!!!! ❤️😁🐶

Ok, friends of Faxon. Do your thing and help us spread the word about two sweet boys in our kennel. They’ve been in a shelter for far too long, and we know that the right family is out there waiting for them.

Meet Ben.
This 9-month-old pit-boxer mix came to us when he was transferred from another shelter… 4 months ago. As in, he’s literally spent half his life in a kennel for no reason.
This guy is the sweetest, dopiest baby. He loves playing fetch outside and playing with bubbles (and he’s just starting to realize that he can’t actually bring them back to you once he catches them). He also will never say no to belly rubs.
He was supposed to go home a few weeks ago, but his adoption fell through.

Meet Moo.
This 1-year-old pitbull boy was brought to us at the end of July when he was transferred from another shelter where he had been adopted and returned already through no fault of his own. He’s a goofy boy who loves fetch and really just running in general. We can usually find him trying to fit 5 toys in his mouth at once. He’s a simple guy who just needs a tennis ball and a yard to run around in and he’s the happiest boy ever. He’s a big boy who tends to be a little pully on the leash, but a harness is helpful.
Everyone who sees him thinks he’s super sweet, but there’s been no serious interest yet.
