Food is medicine, and Regions Hospital is proving it! 🏥🥦

We are excited to share our latest Wholesale Customer Spotlight featuring our partners at Regions Hospital.

They are completely redefining what "hospital food" looks like by intentionally sourcing fresh, seasonal produce from our network of local growers. When an institution of this scale chooses local, the impact ripples across our food system.

The Good Acre team just grew a little bigger, and we couldn't be more excited. 🌿✨

📦 Ruthanne who is dedicated to ensuring hundreds of households across the Twin Cities get the absolute best of the season.

Yesterday and today, our partners at NĀTIFSorg hosted the Indigenous Food in Schools Gathering. This incredible event brought together government agencies, public and private school leaders, and food systems workers all dedicated to a shared goal: getting more Indigenous foods into schools.

We are incredibly proud to have our Procurement Manager, Jason Garcia, speak on a panel during the event. Jason shared their insights on:
🏫 Procuring Indigenous foods for schools.
🫘 Navigating purchasing hurdles.
❤️ The importance of establishing food systems that honor Indigenous foods and their producers.

Other discussions at the gathering included:
📚 Ways to educate people about Indigenous foods.
🌽 Tribal efforts to build sustainable food systems.
🤝 Building a system of ethics around food sourcing.
🏛️ Navigating compliance with state/federal laws and grant requirements.

True food justice means making sure our school lunches reflect the deep agricultural history and diversity of our region. Thank you, NĀTIFSorg, for leading this conversation and bringing community together!

Did you know that 40% of our farm partners identify as Asian farmers?

Our local food system is incredibly rich and diverse, and that is reflected directly in what farmers grow. Our Asian farm partners bring incredible expertise to the fields, growing culturally relevant produce that is familiar to them.

When you join our CSA, your kitchen gets to benefit from that expertise with incredible varieties, like bok choy and Japanese eggplant (as pictured) as well as malabar spinach, napa cabbage, and daikon radish.
