WAYNE UPDATE 5/30/26. 🐷

It's been a rollercoaster of a week for Wayne! Last Thursday (5/21), he had emergency surgery to place a temporary drain to his bladder with hopes his urethra would heal from whatever was blocking it (no stones were seen in MRI). A week later, on 5/28, we planned to do a contrast procedure where we could basically add dye to his bladder to see where the liquid was traveling, and determine if there were any leaks and if the blockage continued.

Well, 5/28 rolls around, and I received a call that Wayne had ripped his tube in half. Our options for him no longer allowed us to wait it out, his bladder was now not able to fully drain, and we again risked his bladder filling and bursting if we did nothing.

We were able to still do the contrast procedure, and it was confirmed his urethra (very high up into his abdomen) was nearly blocked. We either needed to put him down or move forward with a risky procedure that has only been documented in pigs one previous time to place a permanent drain directly from his bladder to outside of his body.

Wayne is a young guy with lots of s***k and we decided to give the surgery a shot....

After several stressful hours, we learned that the surgery had been a success and Wayne was awake and back in his stall to rest!!

He's not out of the woods and his care moving forward will be very complicated for the rest of his life. But we're taking in one day at the time and hoping he continues to improve. He is currently doing really great considering all he's gone through!! ❤️

We continue to be extremely thankful for all of his doctors and staff who continue to root for him to get better and have been able to navigate his very complicated case.

I know everyone is hurting for funds right now, but I wanted to update his bill is now over $12,000, and we'd really appreciate any amount to help chip away at that hefty bill!!! 🤯

WAYNE UPDATE 5/28/26. 🐷 Today marks one week post surgery to place a tube to help Wayne's bladder drain. This afternoon, he'll have a procedure that involves adding contrast to his bladder to see if his bladder or urethra have any leaks (basically whether removing the tube has any chance of working).

We're still waiting on his biopsy results to see if there are any signs of cancer or any other concerns in his bladder lining.

Please keep Wayne in your thoughts today. Hoping for a positive outcome for this test & that we can hopefully get his body back to working on it's own soon! 🤞❤️

With the procedure today, his bill will hit approximately $8200 and raising. Please share our posts & donate if you are able!! Thank you to everyone supporting him!!

Visited with Wayne today! ❤️ His drain is working well currently to empty his bladder, and he's very bright & active. Thursday we'll start testing out to see if his body can take back over. 🤞

We anticipate he'll still remain in the hospital for some time until we get him able to urinate on his own.

Keep sending healing vibes his way! ❤️🐷❤️

WAYNE UPDATE 5/22/26. 🐷 Wayne had emergency surgery last night that wrapped up around 12:30am to place a tube to relieve the pressure in his bladder. The tube will remain in place for the next week, and on Day 7 the idea is we will slowly see if his urethra will take over and start letting urine pass again.

Unfortunately, during surgery, it was found that his bladder and urethra are both looking extremely abnormal. 💔 Both are thickened, and his bladder had internal skin "sloughing off." We've sent a biopsy to see if we can determine what it is. Our concern at this point is it comes back as cancer, but our biggest obstacle still remains to see if he can p*e on his own.

Wayne is on great pain meds and lots of others to help keep any infection away and encourage his body to heal whatever is going on in there.

We're currently taking everything one day at a time and hoping for a positive outcome. 🤞❤️

Please keep Wayne in your thoughts and send him all the positive vibes & prayers. He definitely needs them!

WAYNE UPDATE. This afternoon Wayne's CT results came back and the findings were not what we expected. 💔 The CT showed that Wayne has a compressed area of his urethra which is causing him to be unable to pass much urine. This explains his poor bloodwork yesterday related to his kidneys.

Unfortunately, that combined with the additional fluid he received created the need for Wayne to go immediately into surgery tonight to place a temporary tube into his bladder to allow urine to drain or we risked his bladder rupturing.

The hope is this will give his urethra time to rest and hopefully open again (there were no signs of stones, so we're not sure what is causing it currently). The tube will remain in place for at least the next week, and he'll remain hospitalized.

Please send all of the good healing vibes & prayers his way. Surgery is always risky for pigs, and there is no guarantee that this surgery will solve his problem. But we have to try!!!

As you can imagine, his bill is incredibly expensive. His new estimate is between $6,000-$10,000.

Wayne Update! This afternoon Wayne had a CT scan done & bloodwork. The results for both tests didn't immediately come back & we were hopeful, based on his physical exam, he'd be heading back home tonight while we waited...

Unfortunately, Wayne's bloodwork came back around 6pm showing his kidney values are very concerning and not flushing waste byproducts like they should. 💔 Given this, it was recommended he stay overnight and receive fluids through a catheter in his ear so he hopefully flushes out the ick from his system.

Tomorrow we'll redo bloodwork & hopefully hear back soon if anything was found on his CT.

Please send him all the healing thoughts you can muster! Please also share, comment, and consider donating if you are able.

His bill before we determined he was spending the night was $2300, and this will continue to grow.

Wayne is visiting the U today. Something has just been off recently with him, and we'd rather get him in for a check-up now than wait for an emergency. He's been kinda lethargic and not eating much food (huge 🚩 for any pig!).

We'll update when we know more!

EVIE UPDATE! Yes, she looks ridiculous, even next to the "small" pig crew. But she's made friends & is settling in great!! 😍🥳

P.S. it's Spring, which means coat-blowing season. Please do not judge the patchy hair of Fenix & Cow. 🤣
