Heading home with Frenchie! ๐Ÿฅณ

Frenchie had some complications coming out of anesthesia yesterday (to put it lightly ๐Ÿ˜ฌ), so we decided it was best she stay the night for observation.

We learned that she has extreme arthritis in her left leg (but totally fine in her right?!) that is likely the cause of her lameness.

She's back to normal vitals now & was sent home with pain meds that she'll likely need daily going forward. We're also giving her a round of antibotics because we can't rule out an underlying illness since it did seem like such a sudden onset. Hoping the meds will help her feel better soon!

Frenchie is visiting the U today. She hasn't been putting weight on her back left foot for the past few days, so we want to figure out what's going on.

She'll be sedated this afternoon so we can get xrays and we'll figure out next steps from there. Hoping for just a sprain or something minor... ๐Ÿคž

Everyone please welcome EEYORE to the Bruno's Barn crew!! ๐Ÿฅณ What better way to ring in the 4th when we celebrate freedom & independence?! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Eeyore is a 10 year old boar, previously used in a small breeding operation. When the pair was no longer "useful" to them, his female friend was sent to the butcher, and he was allowed to look for a home (only because boars typically don't have "edible" meat). ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Temps are extremely hot in the Midwest, so traveling in a horse trailer wasn't an option. Thankfully, he was more than happy to walk straight up and down a ramp into multiple vans as he worked his way here (extra impressive because he's not a small guy ๐Ÿ˜…).

Eeyore is the sweetest, super mellow senior guy! He's in his own area for now, but we're excited to introduce him into the crew in the future! He's currently chomping away on grass and settling in to his forever home here. We hope he still has many years of freedom ahead of him.

I've been putting off posting this because it's very painful to write out, but if you follow my personal page you already heard the sad news that Wayne passed away last Sunday. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”

After two very risky surgeries, Wayne's permanent tube into his bladder blocked, and his team was unable to clear it. At that point, we had exhausted all of our options for him.ย ๐Ÿ’”

Wayne came to us with his brother Garth as tiny babies in January of 2025 after they were discovered by a local dog rescue in a hoarding house.ย They both have been nothing but spoiled since.

We are SO thankful for all of Wayne's docters and staff who cared for him, and did absolutely everything they could think of to try to fix him. Unfortunately, pigs have not been bred for longevity, so you never know what underlying problems they may have...

Wayne was very loved every day of his short life, and we missed him very much here.ย โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’”๐ŸŒˆ

WAYNE UPDATE 5/30/26. ๐Ÿท

It's been a rollercoaster of a week for Wayne! Last Thursday (5/21), he had emergency surgery to place a temporary drain to his bladder with hopes his urethra would heal from whatever was blocking it (no stones were seen in MRI). A week later, on 5/28, we planned to do a contrast procedure where we could basically add dye to his bladder to see where the liquid was traveling, and determine if there were any leaks and if the blockage continued.

Well, 5/28 rolls around, and I received a call that Wayne had ripped his tube in half. Our options for him no longer allowed us to wait it out, his bladder was now not able to fully drain, and we again risked his bladder filling and bursting if we did nothing.

We were able to still do the contrast procedure, and it was confirmed his urethra (very high up into his abdomen) was nearly blocked. We either needed to put him down or move forward with a risky procedure that has only been documented in pigs one previous time to place a permanent drain directly from his bladder to outside of his body.

Wayne is a young guy with lots of s***k and we decided to give the surgery a shot....

After several stressful hours, we learned that the surgery had been a success and Wayne was awake and back in his stall to rest!!

He's not out of the woods and his care moving forward will be very complicated for the rest of his life. But we're taking in one day at the time and hoping he continues to improve. He is currently doing really great considering all he's gone through!! โค๏ธ

We continue to be extremely thankful for all of his doctors and staff who continue to root for him to get better and have been able to navigate his very complicated case.

I know everyone is hurting for funds right now, but I wanted to update his bill is now over $12,000, and we'd really appreciate any amount to help chip away at that hefty bill!!! ๐Ÿคฏ

WAYNE UPDATE 5/28/26. ๐Ÿท Today marks one week post surgery to place a tube to help Wayne's bladder drain. This afternoon, he'll have a procedure that involves adding contrast to his bladder to see if his bladder or urethra have any leaks (basically whether removing the tube has any chance of working).

We're still waiting on his biopsy results to see if there are any signs of cancer or any other concerns in his bladder lining.

Please keep Wayne in your thoughts today. Hoping for a positive outcome for this test & that we can hopefully get his body back to working on it's own soon! ๐Ÿคžโค๏ธ

With the procedure today, his bill will hit approximately $8200 and raising. Please share our posts & donate if you are able!! Thank you to everyone supporting him!!
