At the Solano WDB, there’s nothing more rewarding than celebrating the success of our clients. πŸŽ‰ Some of the most meaningful outcomes happen when our teams work together to connect talent with opportunity. 🀝

We are excited to tell you about Megan, who recently completed an On-the-Job Training (OJT) program as an early childhood educator with Les Petits Papillons, a French family daycare in Vallejo.

Megan excelled in her role, and her dedication and passion for working with children earned her a permanent position with the program.

There were plenty of smiles, hugs, and even a few happy tears when Megan and Les Petits Papillons owner Sindy Lafages-McCree joined a recent WDB staff meeting to share their journey.

Megan began working with WDB Employability Specialist Lashunda Norris in fall 2025 and shared her goal of returning to the field of early childhood education. She loved working in a daycare when she was in college and although it had been many years, her passion for children remained strong. Around the same time, Sindy was collaborating with the WDB Business Services team and Business Services Consultant Vankeesha Frank to explore ways to support and strengthen the early childhood workforce.

The partnership proved to be a perfect match. Megan completed a five-month part-time OJT placement in April and was offered a permanent position, which she enthusiastically accepted.

Today, Megan continues to grow in her career while pursuing additional early childhood education credits. Her long-term goal is to one day open a daycare of her own. Congratulations, Megan! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘
