A fresh start for 50 children on Hope Bus 1 💛

Here are a few of the new children beginning their learning journey with us this school year. For many, this is their first chance to learn, make friends, and imagine new possibilities for the future.

Test day across all 3 Hope Buses 📝

When these kids first came to us, they were living on the streets of Baghdad. They’d never been to school, couldn’t read or write, and many didn’t have the ID papers they’d need to enroll.

Our street lawyers got them documented.
Our teacher got them ready.

Now they’re taking their final assessment before graduating from the Hope Bus and heading to school. 🎒

We are deeply grateful to the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington, D.C. for graciously hosting the Iraqi Children Foundation on the eve of our 14th Annual In Their Shoes 5K.

The evening brought together some of our most dedicated sponsors and supporters, whose generosity and commitment continue to make our work possible.

Thank you to the Embassy for welcoming us and for your continued support of our mission. Because of partners like you, we are able to continue serving Iraq’s most vulnerable children and reminding them that they are seen, supported, and never forgotten.

Today, our community came together for our 14th Annual In Their Shoes 5K, making it our biggest one yet. So many joined us in person, while others participated virtually from across the world, all in support of Iraq’s most vulnerable children.

To everyone who attended, participated virtually, donated, volunteered, and supported us, thank you. We are also deeply grateful to our sponsors, whose generosity helped make this day possible.

Every step taken today was a reminder that the children of Iraq are seen, supported, and never forgotten. Thank you for continuing to show up for them and for believing in this mission. 🇮🇶♥️
