Food Distribution is in desperate need of food donations. Food insecurity is back to pandemic levels and we need your help. Donations (of items on our list) can always be left in the vestibules but due to our critical need, we are holding a special nonperishable food dropoff. It is Saturday, October 24th, 10AM-12PM in the Heller Hall Kitchen Driveway off Park Avenue beside the fence for the school's outdoor playground. Just park in any of St. James parking lots or along the street and walk over.

We ask that you sign up to adopt one, two, or even all of the following food items on this link, https://bit.ly/FD24OctSignup or scan the QR code. Thank you for your help in feeding those who need assistance.

This weekend, October 3-4, our second collection will be for in support of their annual "Special Kids/Special Needs" campaign. The mission of Porto Charities is to provide grants to Catholic schools and organizations in Northern Virginia that serve children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This charity is near and dear to Bishop Burbidge’s heart as it aligns with his strategic goal of making Catholic education accessible and affordable to all.

Saint James has also been the recipient of generous grants from Porto Charities for its K-8 and preschool programs. Your donation helps support numerous special education and disability related programs throughout the diocese, including at Paul VI, Bishop O'Connell, and Saint John Paul the Great Catholic high schools. Thank you for your support! To donate online, visit https://giving.parishsoft.com/app/giving/FD-50.

One of our Pack alumni and Den Chief, Gregory had the honor of serving as an altar server at this mass during the National Jamboree this summer!

A classroom can teach leadership...

Scouting gives young people somewhere to practice it.

That’s one reason we’re excited to partner with the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) to introduce more Catholic students and families to Scouting.

On the trail. At camp. During a service project. Leading their peers. Trying something difficult and realizing they can do it.

Scouting America is nonsectarian and welcomes families from many faith traditions. This partnership simply creates another pathway for Catholic families to discover what Scouting can offer.

Learn more about the partnership in the full press release on Scouting Newsroom: https://ow.ly/4i2P50ZSUFQ.
