For Amy, living with metastatic breast cancer has changed her life, but it hasn't stopped her from living it.

After learning her breast cancer had returned and spread, Amy leaned on her faith, loved ones, and care team for strength. With support from Inova Peterson Life with Cancer, she found tools to navigate anxiety, embrace difficult emotions, and rediscover moments of joy.

Meet Jessica G., a pediatric oncology nurse navigator at Inova Peterson Life with Cancer. With 20 years in pediatric oncology care, Jessica says the little moments can be the most powerful – a smile, a belly laugh or seeing a child's personality shine through. 💛

Most people find it difficult not only to think about childhood cancer but also to talk about it. Jessica says open conversations can help families feel seen and supported.

Meet Jemma S., a behavioral health therapist at Inova Peterson Life with Cancer, Pediatric Oncology. Jemma loves working with adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients, who make her laugh, keep her on her toes and inspire the work she does every day. 💙

AYA patients, ages 15-39, have unique needs during cancer treatment. Jemma talks with these patients about everything from friends, school, fertility, dating, careers, body image and so much more.
