In Livingston, a young woman is learning to grow vegetables without soil. 🥕 In Petén, another is decorating her first cake. 🍰 This year, 160 students from indigenous Maya communities are gaining certified vocational skills through Ak' Tenamit - Guatemala Tomorrow Fund and INDRI Ak’tenamit schools, with more courses still to come.

Graphic design. Baking. Agritourism. Hydroponic farming. Seven INTECAP-certified courses so far, each one chosen for its relevance to the communities these students come from and the opportunities available to them.

Thanks to the generous support of Pionero Philanthropy, partnerships like these are expanding opportunities for youth in rural Guatemala. 🤝

46 teachers spent five days asking a question most had never been asked before: what is education really for? 💭

Fabretto's Learning to Learn program is built on a simple but powerful idea: when teachers shift their perspective on the purpose of education, their role in the classroom, and how to create meaningful learning experiences alongside their students, everything changes for the children in front of them. 🌱

Module 2 brought together teachers from Ak' Tenamit - Guatemala Tomorrow Fund and INDRI Ak’tenamit for five days of reading, debating, reflecting, and, on one remarkable day, actually teaching a group of fourth graders to put everything they had just learned into practice.

Sandra has been in the classroom for 28 years. She said it best: "Serving the community in education is a two-way street, because I teach and learn at the same time. Every day, every class I teach, is a learning experience for me as well, not just for the students."

Learning to Learn was designed by Kimanya Ngeyo, a Ugandan nonprofit, using a rural education curriculum developed by Fabretto’s long-time partner, FUNDAEC. In 2026, Fabretto began to pilot Learning to Learn with Guatemalan teachers, with financial support from the Fireside Foundation and the Kettering Family Foundation.

These 46 teachers are back in their classrooms now, carrying Module 2 with them as they prepare for what comes next. And there are hundreds more waiting for the same opportunity.

Each organization arrives with a story, an experience, and a challenge. They are coming with questions. They are coming with hard-won lessons. And they are coming to find something that is hard to build alone: knowledge, fundraising tools, and a network of organizations that understands the work from the inside.

Over three days, those threads will interweave through learning, exchange, and collaboration with the support of Funds4impact to strengthen how each organization builds a sustainable fundraising strategy for the long term. This is what our partners asked for. We listened.

Because sustainable change is not built alone. It is woven together. 🌱

Behind what appears to be a learning struggle may be an unmet health need that has gone undetected for years.

Ezequiel grew up in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, working twice as hard as his classmates just to keep up. He was capable and motivated but increasingly unable to see the board, copy from his notebook, or identify objects others noticed easily. For years, no one could explain why.

Through the Sinergias inclusive education program, implemented by Fundación ACOES Honduras with support from Fundación Adey and Fabretto, Ezequiel finally received the specialized evaluations and surgeries he needed. At eleven, he was diagnosed with uveitis. Today, he is thriving academically and dreaming boldly about his future.

His story is a reminder that when families, educators, healthcare professionals, and organizations work together, lives can be transformed. 🤝✨

This August 19–21, our Impact Partners from Honduras and Guatemala gather together for the second , focused on Strategic Fundraising Sustainability. Together with Funds4impact, we will be building the tools and strategies to sustain the work that reaches children, youth, and families across Central America.

"Innovation can change our community." 🎥

That's Daniela, 18, from Cantarranas, Honduras, preparing to present her project to her community after completing Fabretto Innova last year. A coffee-growing community with limited opportunities, a student who struggled to share her ideas and stepped out of her comfort zone, and a project born from empathy and Design Thinking.

Through Fabretto Innova and Fundación ACOES Honduras, Daniela learned to express herself clearly, manage her nerves, and really listen to the challenges facing communities like hers. Then she took what she learned and put it into action.

That's what Fabretto Innova is all about: inspiring young people and educators across Central America to become drivers of innovation in their own communities. 💡

2026 is already underway, with students and teachers across Honduras and Guatemala deep in their own Design Thinking journeys. We can't wait to share how it's going. 👀

🌱 ¿Qué pasa cuando una organización deja de llegar con todas las respuestas y empieza a construir desde el aprendizaje compartido?

Fabretto Children's Foundation y Asociación Q'eqchi' Xch'ool Ixim se conocieron en los espacios de networking de El Directorio Guatemala. Lo que comenzó con una conversación se convirtió en una alianza que hoy impulsa programas de educación, nutrición y producción de alimentos en Alta Verapaz.

Uno de sus programas de capacitación técnica pasó de 35 a 85 jóvenes participantes, fortaleciendo no solo sus oportunidades, sino también el interés por la agricultura y la transmisión de conocimientos entre generaciones.

Esta historia nos recuerda por qué generamos espacios para conectar organizaciones: porque una conversación puede abrir la puerta a nuevas alianzas, aprendizajes y formas de multiplicar el impacto. 💙

Porque cuando el conocimiento se comparte, el impacto también se hereda de generación en generación.

Fabretto works alongside local nonprofit organizations in Honduras and Guatemala who do the work on the ground every day, reaching children, youth, and families in some of the most underserved communities in Central America. Once a year, we bring this network together to learn, grow, and build something stronger than any one organization could alone. 🤝

This August, the gathers for our second in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Three days dedicated to building the kind of sustainability that only happens in community.

Twice a week, Edilson saddles his horse and rides two hours through the mountains of rural Honduras to reach Academia El Guanito, a school run by our Impact Partner Educate2Envision.

Not because the road is easy. Because he believes education is worth the effort.

Through E2E and Fabretto's CaTec program, Edilson has gained practical agricultural skills and a vision for his future. One day, he wants to become a teacher, inspired by the example of his CaTec facilitator, Danny Portillo.

What does three decades of purpose look like? ✨

For Kevin Marinacci, Fabretto's CEO, it looks like classrooms in rural Honduras, school gardens in Guatemala, and thousands of children who have access to education and nutrition because someone showed up for them, year after year.

At the 2026 Northwestern Kellogg School of Management Reunion, Kevin's Class of 1996 peers took a moment to recognize that commitment, honoring him for his lifelong dedication to expanding educational opportunities across Central America. 🌎

Kevin's journey with Fabretto began in Nicaragua, where he volunteered alongside our founder, Padre Rafael María Fabretto. Today, Fabretto has opened a new chapter, working alongside Impact Partners in Honduras and Guatemala to reach more than 40,000 children and families.

“I am honored by this recognition, but I accept it on behalf of everyone who has been part of Fabretto’s mission over the years,” said Kevin. “I have simply tried to follow Padre Fabretto’s vision of creating opportunities through education. Every student, teacher, family, donor, and partner has played a role in making this work possible.” 🤝
