Rob Zapata, owner of Rob Zapata’s Electric, and an alumni of Evans High School, generously created the Rob Zapata Scholarship Fund last year.

These funds are used to support Columbia County School District-Evans, Georgia students who are planning to pursue a trade career after high school.

This year, several students earned the Rob Zapata Toolbox Grant, and today the Foundation's Trustees celebrated three awardees. These students were each awarded a $500 grant to help them purchase "tools of the trade" as they start their careers.

The Foundation would like to thank the Alalof Family for supporting Columbia County School District-Evans, Georgia teachers.

This year's Rookie of the Year winner was awarded a $1,000 grant from the Meryl Alalof Fund.

Mrs. Meryl Alalof retired as a CCSD educator and administrator after 29 years of service, and in her honor, her family established the Meryl Alalof Classroom Fund, which provides CCSD educators with funding to further enrich their classrooms.

🎭✨The CCSD proudly recognized outstanding graduating seniors during this year’s Arts at the Plaza Fine Arts Showcase, held in partnership with the CCSD Foundation.✨🎨

👏 Congratulations to the following 2026 Fine Arts Scholarship recipients:
• Aiden Rolle (Columbia Virtual Academy), who will attend the University of Georgia.

• Sutton McAlister Van Lenten (Greenbrier High School), who will attend Coastal Carolina University and pursue Musical Theater.

Thanks to generous community sponsors and patrons, the Foundation was able to award two $1,000 Fine Arts scholarships this year to students planning to pursue a post-secondary education in the fine arts. The Foundation is proud to celebrate these talented students and all who continue to make the arts thrive in CCSD! 💫🎶🎭
