Kitten Season arrived late this year… but our nursery didn’t get the memo.
Tiny paws, sleepy squeaks, and wide, wondering eyes are filling our shelter faster than we can find homes for them. Many of these babies came to us orphaned — fragile, hopeful, and needing someone to love them through their first brave steps in the world.

If you’ve ever thought about adopting, now is the moment.
There’s a little life here who hasn’t known a family yet… but is already waiting for you.

Time for a happy adoption update!

This is Smokey. Smokey became a resident of the Senior Center after their owner suddenly passed away. As a senior kitty with limited options, Smokey needed a soft place to land — and our Senior Center was ready to welcome another wise whiskered friend.

Smokey waited patiently, showing off charm, personality, and a few impressive skills along the way.

Then came the Hanleys. After losing their own beloved kitty, they were ready to open their hearts again — and Smokey was the lucky one who got to fill that space.

As of last week’s update, everyone is happy, content, and incredibly grateful. And so are we.

Kitten season started late… but it’s anything but slow.
We’re getting orphaned kittens regularly, and our nursery is filling fast.

We’re urgently looking for adopters and foster families to help care for these tiny babies. If you — or someone you know — has been thinking about kittens, now’s the time to reach out to the shelter.

Just a couple of sweet faces hoping to catch your eye and find a home.

Jon Hutzler was one of the first paid employees hired at the fledgling Cat Protection Society in Sorrento. He became a well‑known figure there and remained with us for ten years, until we were able to move to the wonderful new facilities on Getford Rd, where we still are today. He stayed with us another fifteen years after that move.

When Jonathan suddenly passed away, we became the “parents” of his two dogs and his cats. The dogs had a tough adjustment at first, but thanks to caring workers James and Tom, they eventually settled into their new routine as orphans. Then came Joe — another long‑time volunteer — who gave them special attention. And guess what? Joe has now adopted them, and they’re living with his family on seventeen beautiful acres.

Once again, we’re reminded that loving, kind people make an incredible difference in the lives of the homeless animals we care for. Jon is surely looking down and smiling. Thank you, Joe.
