Happy Labor Day from More Than Apples! 🍎

Today, we’re especially grateful for the hardworking hands that make our mission possible from our drivers and volunteers to our ambassadors and community partners. Every box packed, pallet moved and delivery made helps rescue good food and get it to families throughout our community.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe, restful and well-deserved Labor Day! 🇺🇸

We are really in need of extra hands today 9/3/26!

If you have an early pickup time and can come an hour or two beforehand to help us stay on track, we would truly appreciate it.

We can only do the work we do because of our amazing volunteers but some weeks, we simply don’t have enough help. That’s when we rely on our community to step in. Without enough hands today, there is a real possibility that we may be delayed in starting pickups.

We’ll be there from 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and can use help all day, but our greatest need is between 12:30–4:30 p.m. Even an hour or two would make a huge difference!

Please consider volunteering today and helping us keep everything moving.🍎

Volunteer with us!

Do you have a few extra hours to spare on Thursdays and want to spend them doing something that makes a real difference?

Are you hungry 😉 for community? More Than Apples is looking for dependable, dedicated volunteers to join our Thursday distribution team. Each week we rescue and redistribute thousands of pounds of food to families throughout our community. None of it would be possible without our incredible volunteers. Come check us out!

There’s plenty to do, lots of laughter and always a few surprises along the way. 😂 It’s meaningful, rewarding and a wonderful way to meet some genuinely amazing people.

We’re especially looking for volunteers who can commit to helping consistently. Not necessarily every single Thursday, but regularly enough to become part of the team and learn how our operation works. Just ask our current volunteers. We know once you come, you’ll want to come back!

🍎 Important Distribution Update 🍎

Today would normally be Sneak Peek Day and we know many of you have been waiting to get a glimpse of the goodies coming this week. Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this week’s distribution because Escondido is under an Extreme Heat Warning.

The health and safety of our volunteers and the safety of the food we rescue and distribute are extremely important to us. Because so much of our operation involves strenuous work outdoors and even our indoor areas cannot stay adequately cool in these temperatures, we believe canceling is the safest and most responsible decision.

If you ordered a box this week, your order will automatically be moved to Thursday, September 3. Everything will remain the same, and you do not need to do anything at this time.

All Ambassador remote pickup locations are also canceled this week. Your order will automatically move with your Ambassador to next week unless you are notified of a scheduling adjustment. These remote pickups should have received an email. Please reach out if you haven’t.

If next week does not work for you, we can move your order to another available week or issue a refund. Please message Loree Hawkins-Arbaugh directly or email [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

In the meantime, this is a great opportunity to shop your MTA stash! Please keep showing us how the abundance of MTA continues to feed your families. We absolutely love seeing what you create and how you make it all stretch! 🍎 🍓🍌🍍🍊🥔🍇🍉🍞🥒🥕🥬
