Lt. Moss will be traveling to Seville, Spain to compete in the international rope rescue competition, Rescue Great Day. He is a member of Red River Rescue, an instructional and competition-based team out of Stanton, Kentucky, which provides rope rescue certification and continuing education.

During the event, the team will compete in a variety of complex rescue scenarios. This opportunity highlights the continued commitment of your firefighters to advancing their skills and enhancing the level of service they provide to the community.

Our community deserves transparency, and right now, there are serious concerns that need to be addressed.

Following a decision by city leadership, the Englewood Fire Department has lost key positions who are critical to maintaining safe and effective emergency operations; leaving our department without the command structure necessary to operate at the level our citizens expect and deserve.

Every day, your firefighters respond to emergencies that require clear leadership, coordination, and accountability. Without a proper chain of command in place, the lives of our citizens and safety of our firefighters are at risk.

We have made multiple attempts to raise these concerns directly with city leadership, but so far, those efforts have not resulted in meaningful dialogue.

We are asking for one simple thing: to be heard.

Your firefighters are committed to protecting this community, but we cannot ignore conditions that may impact our ability to do so safely and effectively. We believe the public has a right to know what is happening and how it may affect emergency response in Englewood.

We urge city leadership to engage in an open and honest conversation to address these concerns before a preventable issue becomes a tragedy.

We are proud to announce that two of our firefighters have officially earned their Farm & Agriculture Rescue certifications through a joint program with Crash Course Village and the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. This training is designed to prepare first responders for the unique complexities of modern agricultural hazards. Throughout the course, our personnel trained in specialized rescue operations, including large animal rescue, grain bin extrication, manure handling emergencies, heavy tractor entrapments, and PTO/auger entanglements. We remain dedicated to advancing our training to provide the highest level of service to our community.

Avoid 70 EB from Hoke Rd. There are multiple accidents and the highway is shut down. Englewood Truck Towing and Recovery is on scene now and they are getting things opened back up. Please do not be out if you don’t need to. The roads are very dangerous.
