Our community deserves transparency, and right now, there are serious concerns that need to be addressed.
Following a decision by city leadership, the Englewood Fire Department has lost key positions who are critical to maintaining safe and effective emergency operations; leaving our department without the command structure necessary to operate at the level our citizens expect and deserve.
Every day, your firefighters respond to emergencies that require clear leadership, coordination, and accountability. Without a proper chain of command in place, the lives of our citizens and safety of our firefighters are at risk.
We have made multiple attempts to raise these concerns directly with city leadership, but so far, those efforts have not resulted in meaningful dialogue.
We are asking for one simple thing: to be heard.
Your firefighters are committed to protecting this community, but we cannot ignore conditions that may impact our ability to do so safely and effectively. We believe the public has a right to know what is happening and how it may affect emergency response in Englewood.
We urge city leadership to engage in an open and honest conversation to address these concerns before a preventable issue becomes a tragedy.
