Happy first day back, Northmont!

With the start of a new school year upon us, it's time for a friendly reminder of Ohio's school bus laws. Don't make it more difficult than it is...

On a road with FEWER than FOUR lanes, ALL TRAFFIC approaching a stopped school bus must stop.

On a road with FOUR OR MORE lanes (or a divided highway), only vehicles traveling the SAME direction as the school bus must stop.

For example, if there is a school bus stopped on Main Street or Wenger Road in Englewood (both 4+ lane roads), the traffic moving in the opposite direction of the stopped school bus does NOT stop. Only the traffic following or moving the same direction of the stopped bus stops. This is because school buses are not allowed to have children cross that many lanes of traffic.

✂️📚 CUTS FOR CLASS 2026 — WHAT A DAY!

A week ago, YOU ALL SHOWED UP! ❤️

Our community came together in a big way to help Northmont students head back to school with fresh haircuts, big smiles, and a little extra confidence for the new school year.

A HUGE thank you to The Englewood Parlor and Mosaic Hair Studio | Englewood, Ohio , along with all of the incredible barbers and stylists who volunteered their time and talents. Haircut after haircut, you gave back to the kids in our community, and we can’t thank you enough!

We also want to give a special thank you to the Englewood Fire Department for coming out and being part of the day, and to SaltyZ Pretzels and Kona Ice for joining us and helping make the event even more special!

And finally, thank YOU, Englewood. Whether you brought your kids, shared our posts, volunteered, supported the businesses involved, or simply helped spread the word — you showed up.

This is what happens when local businesses, first responders, organizations, and neighbors come together for our kids.

We’re only ONE WEEK out and we are getting excited for Cuts for Class at and The Englewood Parlor! Before you come out, here are a few things to know:

✂️ Walk-ins: We will accept walk-ins on a first come, first served basis, but availability is not guaranteed. Those with scheduled appointments will receive priority.

⏰ Appointments: Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment so we can keep things moving smoothly and get as many students taken care of as possible.

🍧 Kona Ice will be there! Grab a Kona Ice while you’re with us! 20% of all sales will be donated back to Englewood RISE, helping us continue pouring right back into our community.

🥨 SaltyZ Prestzels will also be with us for mouth watering pretzels available for purchase.

‼️ Reminder: our Cuts for Class event is TOMORROW (8/16) now beginning at 1pm!

🤩 Couldn’t get an appointment? Walk-ins will now be offered starting at 1pm to help get more kids cut! Walk-ins will be first come, first serve. No barber/stylist will be guaranteed. Please share with someone who may not have been able to get an appointment.

📍Cuts will take place at The Englewood Parlor (7 W. National Rd.) and Mosaic Hair Studio (23 N. Main St.) Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Appointments will not be honored for late arrivals, but can be moved to our walk-in list.

If your child is a Northmont student (K–12), they can receive a completely FREE haircut to help them start the school year looking and feeling their best.

ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE - Saturday, July 4, 2026

To accommodate and provide for the safety of pedestrians and spectators attending the City's July 4th Fireworks Celebration, Union Boulevard will be CLOSED, as follows:

Approx. 9:45 p.m. - Union Blvd from Overla Blvd. to West National Road will be closed to all thru traffic, in both directions. This includes access from all side streets and business driveways.

The road closure will remain in place until the conclusion of the fireworks and after the spectators and vehicle traffic around Centennial Park has safely exited the immediate area, at the discretion of the police department.

In past years, this road closure lasts approximately one hour.

An alternate travel route is encouraged.

🎶 There's just something about live music on a summer evening.

We're excited to have joining us at the Englewood RISE 4th of July Bash!

While you're grabbing dinner from one of our food trucks, catching up with friends, or waiting for the fireworks, take some time to enjoy some great live music and soak in the atmosphere.

Events like this are all about bringing our community together, and we can't think of a better soundtrack for the evening.

Bring a lawn chair, bring your family, and come enjoy a great night with us. We can't wait to see you tonight!
