our very own Aquatics Coordinator, Renee Huffman!
🌊 What is your position, and how long have you been working at the Kleptz YMCA?
💦 I am the aquatics coordinator and I have worked for the YMCA since I was in high school. I have worked for Kleptz for 30 1/2 years.
🌊 What is your favorite part about working here?
💦 I love working with the kids and all of the people. Helping everyone be safe around the water.
🌊 What does leadership mean to you?
💦 Being a good example, encouraging others to do the same.
🌊 What are some of your hobbies?
💦 I love to knit and crochet. I like to play with yarn! Socks, hats, gloves, blankets, you name it, I knit or crochet it!
🌊 What is one goal you are currently working on? This can be work related, personal, or both!
💦 My current goal is to try to maintain balance in my life. Between work and home, between hobbies and the things I should be doing. Trying not to get hyper fixated on any one thing.
🌊 Who is someone you really admire and look up to?
💦 I lost my sweet Sarah at the age of 10. I admire her so much in everything she did to wake up every morning and face the day with all of the obstacles she had to face. She has taught me how to teach swim lessons to those needing a little bit more patience and a little bit more of encouragement. I would not be the person I am today without her.
