Northmont alumni out there doing things in the world!

Naomi Baker, a Dayton, Ohio native, is stepping into the spotlight as the lead actress in Tyler Perry’s new Netflix drama, Doing Life.

A graduate of Northmont High School and Ohio State University, Baker moved to Los Angeles four years ago to pursue acting.

Her big opportunity came when Tyler Perry watched her performance in an unreleased project called Hard Feelings. Impressed by her work, he personally reached out and sent her the script for Doing Life.

Baker plays Anika, a single mother who forms an unexpected connection with a reformed former prisoner, played by Jay Reeves.

The film explores love, resilience, second chances, and the courage to rebuild a life.

For Baker’s family, watching their daughter take center stage in a global Netflix release is a moment of immense pride.

A reminder that sometimes, one opportunity can change the direction of an entire career.

Doing Life is streaming now on Netflix.

This morning the High School was crazy busy with a cross country meet BUT we also gave a tour to members of the class of 1976 💚⚡️💚
Fun stories were told about past memories of the old high school! 🏫
Many fun facts were shared about the new high school and all that it offers to our students!
Thank you to the class of 1976 for coming back and seeing Northmont today!

Line up begins at 5:15 on Union Road between the old Rite Aid and Wright Pat Credit Union. If you would like to pass something out, bring a bag of candy. It’s always fun to see kids light up when you hand them a little piece of candy. 💚
