Northmont Rotary was pleased to welcome Tom Sorna and Father Seraphine as our speakers this week to share their work on a Clean Water Project in Tanzania. They are currently raising funds to drill a clean water well in the village of Idodyandole, where some residents must walk 3–5 miles roundtrip to obtain water.
Tom and Father Seraphine shared insights into the culture of the village, its current water challenges, the well-drilling process and costs, and plans to ensure the new well is secured and maintained for years to come. At the conclusion of the presentation, Northmont Rotary was proud to make a $1,000 donation through The Dayton Foundation to support the Clean Water Project and help bring a safe, reliable source of water to the people of Idodyandole.
