It was an animal house at the Earl Heck Community Center today as we welcomed the Wild Hearts African Farm to be part of our our senior lunch and learn program. Wild Hearts Farm Director, Amanda Badger, brought several special guests with her, including a hedgehog, millipede, and barn owl. A huge thanks goes out to our friends at Cornerstone Caregiving for sponsoring today's event and bringing us Fazoli's for lunch.

We are only two weeks away from our annual Senior Ice Cream Social. Come out to the Earl Heck Center on June 16th for a live performance from the Englewood Civic Band while you enjoy some delicious JD's Custard.

The seniors took a journey back to the 50's, 60's, and 70's during today's Music Bingo event at the Earl Heck Community Center. The oldies and classic songs had everyone singing along and dancing in their seats. A huge thanks goes out to our friends at RetireMed for sponsoring this fun event!

Don't forget to mark your calendars for the upcoming Senior Ice Cream Social which will be held at the Earl Heck Community Center on June 16th . We will be serving JD's Custard with all the toppings at 7:00pm, followed by a concert performance from the Englewood Civic ECB - Englewood Civic Band at 7:30pm. This event is always a good time so be sure join us for an evening of cool treats and live music!

The Earl Heck Center will be closing at 1:00pm on Friday and reopen on Tuesday, May 26.

Our friends from Arcadia Care at Dayton stopped by the Earl Heck Community Center today and offered free blood pressure checks for the seniors. Free blood pressure checks are offered at the Earl Heck Center on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. courtesy of Arcadia Care and Brookdale Senior Living.

Due to the weather, the "Custard with the Chief" event scheduled for today has been postponed.

Mother Nature is not cooperating with our plans for Custard with the Chief, so we've decided to postpone the event until we can guarantee the "perfect" weather conditions to enjoy tasty JD's Old Fashioned Frozen Custard! (But is there really ever not a good time to enjoy JD's?)

Anyway, we will announce a new date and time soon, so watch our page for details.

We're kicking off summer right at the Earl Heck Community Center with a delicious "Burger Bar" lunch for the seniors today. Our friends at Englewood Health & Rehab supplied the meal, which included burgers, mac and cheese, and all the fixings. We cooled things off a little with some ice cream sandwiches for dessert. 🍔🍔🍔
