Meet our volunteer Jay Driggers! Here is what he has to say about his work with NOVA:

I first got involved in NOVA in 2014, mostly through fundraising events that took place in NYC and NJ throughout the year. Over time, I wanted to get more involved and volunteer. I took my first mission trip to Haiti in January 2019 to help evaluate operations and identify opportunities to improve patient flow at the clinic. This trip was truly a life changing experience for me and is still one of the best trips I have ever taken in my entire life! I got to see the clinic in action first-hand, which was quite impressive. But beyond that, I had the opportunity to connect with so many of the families and children that depend on NOVA not just for medical care, but as a place of social gathering and activities for the kids. I got to help organize craft activities, sporting events, and a really fun movie night. I met some of the warmest, kindest people during my week there, and I will never forget it. Since that trip, I have gotten even more involved in fundraising for the organization. And, in January of this year, I joined their Board of NOVA. I cannot wait to go back to Haiti and to the clinic - hopefully in the near future - to continue to contribute to the important, life-saving work that takes place to help this beautiful community!

If you’ve been following us for a while, you know how proud we are of our Hypertension Program. We recently conducted a small qualitative survey with 10 patients enrolled in our Hypertension Program.
They were asked how this program impacting your life? What are we doing well? And what could we do better?
Their responses were very meaningful.
WHAT OUR PATIENTS APPRECIATE
Access to medication and better blood pressure management
Regular medical follow-up - Some of the patients have been followed by the program for several months, while others reported being part of it for more than three years. This continuity of care appears to be extremely important to them.
The way our team cares for them
Improvements in their perceived health and quality of life
One testimony was particularly powerful: a patient reported that when they first came to the program, they were using a wheelchair. The patient says that since receiving treatment and follow-up, they have regained the ability to walk. This is, of course, the patient’s personal testimony and not an independent clinical assessment, but still very moving!
WHAT COULD WE IMPROVE?
Interestingly, the patients did not identify major dissatisfaction with the Hypertension Program itself. Instead, they expressed additional health needs such as Diabetes and Pain Management.

We recently hosted English Summer Camp 2026 at the NOVA Hope for Haiti Community Center in Cavaillon!
This exciting new initiative was created to give children in our community the opportunity to learn English in a fun, interactive, and encouraging environment. Our young learners built confidence through games, songs, creative activities, teamwork and conversation.
The camp was filled with smiles, laughter, new friendships, and the excitement of learning their very first English words. Seeing the children’s enthusiasm reminded us why investing in education is one of the greatest gifts we can give.
We are especially proud of Grace, our young student instructor, whose passion and leadership are inspiring the next generation of learners.
At NOVA Hope for Haiti, we believe education opens doors, builds confidence, and creates opportunities for a brighter future.
