John Inserra Memorial Softball Tournament This event honors the memory of a John Inserra, a friend who passed away too young.

Each year, residents gather to celebrate his legacy by participating in the sport he loved. The tournament unites the community and provides support to his beloved family.

2025 John Inserra
Memorial Softball Tournament

The Rules:
1. This is a Co-Ed tournament
2. 6 Men/4 Women on field at all times
3. Women are not allowed to bat back to back
4. High arc (6-12ft). ASA Rules
5. Plate is not a strike
6. All games are 6 innings
7. New Inning cannot start after 60 minutes
8. You may have as many players in your lineup as you wish but everyone bats.
9. Each batter starts with one strike and one ball.
10. Every batter is allowed one foul ball after strike 2
11. Plate is NOT a strike
12. No bunting is allowed
13. No stealing or leading off the base. The players foot must be on the base until the ball crosses the plate.
14. There is NO sliding into home plate or running into or interfering with the catcher’s ability to make the play
15. Teams cannot score more than 5 runs per inning. If a team is down by more than 5 runs, they are allowed to score as many runs as necessary to tie the game.
16. Games are called at the end of ONE hour and the score at the end of the last complete inning, that is not tied, will be the final score.
17. All scores will be reported by the umpire only and posted on the official tournament bracket
18. Memorial #2 HR Rule – Only 3 HRs allowed over the fence per team/game. Over the fence is an automatic out after initial 3.
