🎭 IN THE SPOTLIGHT: IT’S ONLY A PLAY 🎭

Opening night is over. The ch*****ne is ready. Now there’s just one tiny thing standing between a Broadway hit and a spectacular disaster…

THE REVIEWS!

😂 IT’S ONLY A PLAY
By Terrence McNally
Directed by Mark Sardo

At the opening-night party for The Golden Egg, a collection of theatre insiders anxiously awaits the critics’ verdict on their new production. Egos, insecurities, and theatrical ambitions collide as everyone wonders whether the reviews will make their careers—or send them spiraling!

With backstage chaos and a hilariously sharp look at the world of show business, this comedy proves that sometimes the drama offstage is even better than the show itself.

📅 PERFORMANCE DATES

Friday, July 9 & 16 — 7:30 PM
Saturday, July 10 — 7:30 PM
Saturday, July 17 — 2:00 PM & 7:30 PM
Sunday, July 11 & 18 — 2:00 PM
Mandeville Hall at the Clemens Center

Because in theatre, everyone has an opinion—and nobody is waiting quietly to share it! 🍸

Please note: This production is rated R for adult language.

🎭✨ IT’S TIME TO LIFT THE CURTAIN ON ELT’S 2027 SEASON! ✨🎭

📻 IN THE SPOTLIGHT: THE WAR OF THE WORLDS 👽

We interrupt this program with a special news bulletin…

Imagine settling in for an evening of radio entertainment when suddenly, reports begin pouring in of strange objects from Mars and a terrifying invasion of Earth!

🌎 THE WAR OF THE WORLDS
By Howard Koch, based on the novel by H. G. Wells
Directed by Kaylara Allington

Inspired by the infamous 1938 radio broadcast, this suspenseful production brings the power of radio theatre to life. Through urgent bulletins, eyewitness reports, and increasingly desperate voices, an ordinary broadcast becomes a fight for humanity’s survival.

What’s real? Who can you trust? And what happens when the next announcement changes everything?

Elmira Little Theatre is proud to present an original play that brings regional history, powerful conversations, and contemporary questions together on stage.

✨ THE CREATIVE RESPONSE TO THE POTENTIAL OF LIGHT
A new play by Meghan O’Toole

Grounded in historical women from our region, this original play explores the stories and legacies that have shaped our community—and gives new relevance to today’s liberation issues.

🎭✨ IT’S TIME TO LIFT THE CURTAIN ON ELT’S 2027 SEASON! ✨🎭

💌 IN THE SPOTLIGHT: PRIDE AND PREJUDICE 💌

First impressions can be deceiving… especially when love is involved!

We’re kicking off Elmira Little Theatre’s 2027 season with a beloved literary classic that brings romance, sharp wit, and plenty of social complications to the stage!

🎭 PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
By Kate Hamill, based on the novel by Jane Austen
Directed by Craig Bond

The outspoken Lizzy Bennet is determined to never marry, despite mounting pressure from society. But when matters of the heart—and one particularly proud Mr. Darcy—enter the picture, Lizzy discovers that love rarely follows the rules!

Expect clever comedy, romantic entanglements, and a fresh take on one of literature’s most beloved stories.

📅 PERFORMANCE DATES

Saturday, February 13 & 20 — 7:30 PM

🎭 ONE MORE CURTAIN CALL 🎭
One Last Look at ELT's 2025–2026 Season

And just like that…

We've reached the end. ❤️

Over the past few weeks, we've taken you back through an entire year of Elmira Little Theatre.

❤️💛💚 We went back to Westerburg High with Heathers the Musical.

🦋 We laughed, cried, and remembered just how brilliant the little things can be with Kimberly Akimbo.

🐇 We sat with love, loss, family, and finding a way forward in Rabbit Hole.

🌊 We packed our bags and spent another August at the cottage with five lifelong friends in The Sweet Delilah Swim Club.

⚡ And finally, we cranked up the voltmeter, waited for the lightning, and brought the laboratory back to life with Young Frankenstein.

Five productions.

Five completely different worlds.

Hundreds of rehearsals.

Thousands of lines learned, notes played, costumes changed, props placed, cues called, lights focused, sets built, problems solved, laughs shared, friendships made…and memories we get to keep long after the curtain comes down.

That's the wonderful, slightly crazy thing about theatre.

We build an entire world from nothing.

For a little while, it's alive.

And then the final bow happens.

The audience goes home.
The costumes are hung up.
The props are packed away.
The set disappears.
The stage goes quiet.

But the people, the friendships, the stories and the memories stay.

To every actor who stepped onto our stage, every musician who played a note, every person who worked backstage, every director and designer who dreamed something up, every volunteer who lent a hand, and every audience member who sat on the other side of that curtain…

Thank you for being part of our 2025–2026 season.

You gave us one heck of a year. ❤️

And now?

The ghost light is on.

The stage is empty.

Our One More Curtain Call has officially come to an end.

But an empty stage never stays empty for very long…

Something new is already waiting just beyond the curtain.

New directors.
New actors.
New stories.
New worlds to build.

And a brand-new ELT season is waiting in the wings. 👀🎭

2026–2027… you're up next.

A Look Back at ELT's 2025–2026 Season

⚡🧠 YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN 🧠⚡
August 2026
Directed by Kaylara Allington
Musical Direction by Nolan DeSanto

IT'S ALIVE!!! …well, one more time. ⚡

For our final SHOW in the One More Curtain Call series, we're traveling back to Transylvania and reopening the laboratory for the monstrously fun Young Frankenstein!

In August 2026, Mel Brooks' madcap musical brought Dr. Frederick Frankenstein—excuse us, that's Fronkensteen—back to his family's infamous castle. One mysterious book, one abnormal brain, a bolt of lightning, and several VERY questionable scientific decisions later…

A MONSTER WAS BORN! ⚡

And what a wonderfully ridiculous ride it was.

There were Transylvanians. There were experiments. There was yodeling. There were horses with VERY strong opinions about certain names. There was a suspicious amount of hay. There were pitchforks. There was fire. There was an enormous laboratory.

And, of course, there was a seven-foot-tall creature who somehow learned to put on a top hat and tails and go Puttin' on the Ritz! 🎩✨

But bringing a monster this big to life takes more than a little lightning.

It took an incredible cast, orchestra, production team, designers, costumers, choreographers, builders, painters, props team, makeup artists, technicians, run crew, volunteers, and countless other delightfully abnormal brains working together both onstage and behind the curtain.

And then there was YOU.

Our audiences filled the theatre with laughter, applause, energy, and love from the first rumble of thunder to the final bow.

Now, before we close the laboratory for good, we want to hear from you!

💬 What was your favorite moment, song, character, line, or memory from Young Frankenstein?

And cast & crew…we KNOW things happened in that laboratory that the audience never knew about. 👀😂 What's the backstage moment you'll never forget?

🎭 Were you there? Leave a ❤️
🎬 Were you part of the production? Leave a 🎭
🏠 First time hearing about this one? Leave a 👀

But we've got just enough electricity left to give Young Frankenstein…

🌊 THE SWEET DELILAH SWIM CLUB 🌊
April 2026
Directed by Anna-Beth Wheaton

Grab your beach bag, pour yourself a cocktail, and head back to the Sweet Delilah cottage with us for One More Curtain Call! 🏖️🍹

In April 2026, The Sweet Delilah Swim Club introduced audiences to Sheree, Dinah, Lexie, Jeri Neal, and Vernadette—five college swim teammates who make a promise to reunite every August at the same beach cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks.

Over the course of decades, we watched these five women laugh, fight, celebrate, annoy the absolute heck out of each other, weather life's storms, and prove that some friendships really can survive just about anything.

There were biscuits. There were questionable beauty treatments. There were cocktails. There were secrets. There were arguments. There were plenty of laughs—and, yes, there were definitely some tears.

But underneath all of it was a story about friendship. The kind where someone has known you long enough to remember every version of you, loves you anyway, and will still show up when you need them most.

Five incredible women brought these friends to life, supported by a wonderful production team, crew, volunteers, and everyone behind the scenes who helped turn Mandeville Hall into our little piece of the Outer Banks.

And to everyone who came to spend an August weekend at Sweet Delilah with us—thank you. 💙

Now it's your turn!

💬 What was your favorite Sweet Delilah moment, character, line, or memory?

And cast & crew: what happened at the cottage that the audience never knew about? 👀😂

Pull up a beach chair, share your memories below, and help us give The Sweet Delilah Swim Club…

👻 THE DEAD HAVE STORIES TO TELL...

For nearly two decades, figures from Elmira’s past have stepped out of the history books and returned to tell their stories. This October, they’re coming back once again for the 20th Annual Cemetery Ghost Walk, presented by the Chemung County Historical Society with support from Elmira Little Theatre!

But first... we need a few living people willing to play the dead. 🎭

OPEN AUDITIONS will be held this Saturday, August 29 from 2:30–4:30 PM at the Chemung County Historical Society, 415 E. Water St., Elmira.

We are looking for:
👻 3 Male Ghosts
👻 2 Female Ghosts
🚶 Walkers

No prepared audition is needed! Scripts will be provided and everyone will cold read. Those interested in joining the fun without taking on a scripted role can also sign up to become a Walker — costumed characters who make unexpected appearances along the tour route.

But remember, this isn't a haunted house. History and education are at the heart of the Ghost Walk. It's about bringing the people and stories of our community’s past back to life, with just the right amount of ghostly fun.

Or, as the Ghost Walk folks themselves put it:

“Mild titillation, not terror!” 👻

The Ghost Walk returns October 16, 17 & 18, but our journey into the past starts this Saturday.

Questions? Email [email protected] with GHOST WALK in the subject line.

Come help us raise the dead. 🪦👻
