Invitation for June 18 mural Ribbon Cutting in Elmira
You are invited to join us for a Thriving Futures mural ribbon cutting on June 18 at 2 pm in Elmira at the SouthSide Community Center (215 Partridge St). Celebrate the completion of the mural titled “Bike Battle Kidz” by Sam Somostrada. This is one of 18 murals completed in communities across the Southern Tier as part of the 2025 Thriving Futures Mural Initiative sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension Smart Energy Choices in collaboration with Ithaca Murals. Two other murals in Chemung County by Dion Browne, and Cuba Leach, will be honored at this ribbon cutting. The murals all depict different visions of what a “thriving future” looks like, covering themes like clean energy, environmental equity, and strong communities.
