We told the chorus to come dressed for Labor Day… and BOY, DID THEY DELIVER! From beach balls and pool noodles to patriotic flair and vacation vibes, our singers definitely understood the assignment!

Labor Day is a little different for us this year — instead of spending the holiday together at rehearsal, we're taking a well-deserved break to enjoy time with family, friends, sunshine, and maybe a little singing wherever we happen to be! ☀️🎶

🎶 A Very Special Night at River Blenders! 🎶

What a treat to welcome 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 to the River Blenders!

David is a legendary figure in the barbershop world—an accomplished arranger, coach, judge, historian, and educator whose work has influenced generations of singers. His arrangements and coaching have helped countless quartets and choruses find that extra bit of magic in their music.

And here's the really special part: David arranged our competition uptune! So having him in the room, listening to us sing it and sharing his insight, was an incredible opportunity for our chorus. To learn from the person who helped bring the music to life? That's pretty special. 💜

David, thank you for sharing your talent, wisdom, humor, and love of barbershop harmony with us. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from you and can't wait to put your coaching to work!

🎶 Spotlight Moment at River Blenders! 🎶

Every week, we close rehearsal the same special way — with our regional song, "𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘞𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺." But here's the fun part: each week, our director hands the chorus to one of our own members to lead the chorus in this beloved tradition!

This week, we're shining the spotlight on 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐲 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐳𝐤𝐞 for stepping up to direct us out for the evening! There's something truly special about watching a fellow chorus member take the reins — it's a reminder that 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 live in every single one of us on that risers.

Sneak peek: what really happens between run-throughs at rehearsal.

Last evening we welcomed our music evaluators in person for a deep dive into our competition uptune with instant feedback on what to tighten up. While a group worked directly with the evaluators, the rest of the chorus continued singing behind them and refining choreography. We then turned our attention to preparing music for our upcoming performance at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, our annual way of giving back to the congregation that hosts our weekly rehearsals.

Only 10 rehearsals left until we take the stage at International in late October... but who's counting? 😉

The River Blenders Chorus is thrilled to announce the five outstanding vocalists who have earned a place in the final round of our annual Sing for Scholarships competition!

These talented young singers impressed our chorus with their vocal ability, musicality, and passion for performance. Now they'll take the stage one final time as they compete for scholarship awards this September at our Regional Music School.

Auditions are in the books! 🎤✅

These past couple of weeks, we heard so many incredible young voices step up to compete for a spot in our annual Sing for Scholarships — area students ages 11 to 18, giving it their all. The River Blenders Chorus served as judges, and they definitely had their work cut out for them!

Scores are being tallied now... 5 finalists will be announced soon!

Calling all 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 5 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 — mark your calendars for 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 19 and join us at the 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, where our finalists take the stage that evening for the contest finals! They'll compete for cash prizes, and YOU, the audience, votes for their favorite voice.

⚽🎶 It's World Cup Final Day! 🎶⚽

Today, the River Blenders Chorus is trading our risers for the couch as we join millions of fans around the world to celebrate the beautiful game.

Wishing Spain and Argentina the very best of luck in today's FIFA World Cup Final! May it be a match filled with incredible skill, unforgettable moments, and great sportsmanship.

We're also looking forward to the amazing musical performances that will make this global event even more memorable. Music and sports have a wonderful way of bringing people together!

We'll be back on the risers tomorrow, but today we're cheering alongside soccer fans everywhere.

Singers are diving into classes for quartets and individuals, competing in the Diamond Division & Rising Star Quartet Contests, and even learning from and mingling with the 2026 International Champion Quartet, Dynasty!
