What an absolute joy to participate in City of Ellisville, MO ‘s Hotdog It’s Chili event again! Some amazing volunteers showed up to hand out free hot chocolate, coffee, and hand pressed lattes! Such a great evening to connect with our neighborhood. We got to meet folk, have some great conversation, and connect through prayer. Looking forward to pumping more caffeine into West County soon. 😂

We just finished out our “Who’s Your One?” Series at Immanuel. We spent 5 weeks considering every believer’s role in the kingdom work what might happen if we owned that mission in our own lives. We asked questions like:

Do you notice the lost around you?

Do you value the lost around you?

Do you welcome the sinners home?

And we landed with the most significant question of all. What can one gospel conversation do to someone’s eternity?

It has been an encouraging and challenging season at IFC. Join with us in commitment to pray for the kingdom of God to move forward. And be specific. Rather than praying generally, consider the names, the faces, the hearts that you long to see find freedom in Christ. Lift them up in prayer daily. Ask the Lord to let you be a part of their faith story. And let’s see what God might do in our city.

God has called you to make disciples, but you don’t have to do it alone. Jesus is with you every step of the way. Step out in faith this week and look for someone you can encourage, love, and help grow closer to Him.

It’s easy for our convictions and our everyday lives to get out of sync. But when Jesus gave the Great Commission, He didn’t just give it to spiritual greats.

Sometimes just showing up is an act of bravery. Many folk actually long to have a vibrant faith at the center of their person, but more and more it is just so difficult actually get there. Faith requires community. It requires being fully known and knowing others. It’s vulnerable and intimate and involved. That can be an incredibly hard barrier to get over. But at the end of the day, isolation kills us internally. And praise be to God that isolation is a struggle we can often conquer by choice. We understand this anxiety and pressure that so many live under so we try to be incredibly intentional in our faith family. We want every person who walks into a gathering at Immanuel feel both safe and seen. That’s a hard balance to strike. It is difficult to step into especially if you’ve been isolated for a while, but we’ll make you a deal. If you’re brave enough to take the step and show up, we will too. Life is better in communion with Christ and with others.

One of the coolest things about ministry is when we get to be in partnership with other kingdom works around us. We received a gift last year that left us with way too many chairs in our building. We got to take a chunk of them and pass them to Message and a Meal where they’ll be used for weekly ministry to impoverished folk.

It’s a little thing, but how cool is it to think of these chairs being used for gospel ministry in our faith family and now continuing their service to the kingdom with other folk!

We’re stronger together in God’s kingdom.
