The STL First Responder Canteen is a local nonprofit organization that responds to larger scale fire and EMS emergencies to provide refreshments for first responders, as well heating and cooling devices during times of extreme weather.

They are in need of volunteers, especially in the South and West County areas to help serve. They will have a training session on March 8th at the Fenton Fire Protection District station 2 if anyone would like to join their team. Thanks!

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District during this difficult time. Rest easy, Firefighter/Paramedic Clancy, we thank you for your service.

Yesterday, Florissant Firefighters laid Brother Timothy Clancy to rest. Tim was a great firefighter/paramedic and loved to help others. Firefighter/Paramedic Clancy will live on through his endless stories and be deeply missed throughout the fire service.

We want to take this time to thank our Brothers and Sisters, from various departments across the St. Louis area, who stepped in to help us honor Tim. We also want give a special thank you to Metro West Fire Protection District, St. Louis County Missouri, Ferguson Fire Department, Firefighters of Frontenac, Affton Fire Protection District, Creve Coeur Fire Protection District, Maryland Heights Fire Protection District, Berkeley MO Fire Department, Pattonville Fire Protection District, and Monarch Firefighters Community Outreach for moving up to Florissant to take care of our residents during Firefighter/Paramedic Timothy Clancy’s Wake and Funeral Service. Thank you to the Missouri Fire Service Funeral Assistance Team for all of your assistance.

We have received an overwhelming amount of support and love from both the Florissant Community and Fire Service. We appreciate all of you.

Our prayers are with the St. Charles County Ambulance District and its members as they grieve the loss of Paramedic Michael Clarke. We ask God to keep the family, friends and comrades of Paramedic Clarke wrapped in His arms.

Rest easy, hero, we thank you for your service.

It is with immense sadness and grief that St. Charles County Ambulance District [SCCAD] announces the line of duty death of Paramedic Michael Clarke (27), a two-year veteran of the department.

Shortly before 7 a.m. this morning, the advanced life support unit on which Paramedic Clarke was working was assigned to a 911 call. When Clarke did not report from the station to the ambulance to leave for the call, his partner found him unresponsive in one of the station’s bedrooms.

Clarke’s partner and other paramedics at Station 12 (200 McMenamy Road, St. Peters) immediately initiated CPR and other lifesaving measures, which were continued at Barnes St. Peters Hospital following transport. Despite their valiant efforts, he did not survive.

Clarke joined the team at SCCAD in November 2022, working on the District’s Surge Division and later B-Platoon. He was known for his affable nature and brought a positive energy to the station for every shift. Earlier this year, Clarke and two colleagues were recognized by a patient and the SCCAD Board of Directors for their lifesaving efforts at the scene of the gentleman’s January 5 cardiac arrest.

“Michael embodied each of our values, but perhaps none more so than Compassion – his kindness put patients at ease and earned him respect among colleagues and community health partners. This loss is profound, and we appreciate the support of our community during this difficult time,” said SCCAD Chief Kelly Cope.
Like many members of our team, Clarke completed his Emergency Medical Technician [EMT] and Paramedic coursework here at SCCAD.

Arrangements for Paramedic Clarke are pending at this time and will be communicated per the family’s wishes. Our Paramedic Association, Honor Guard and leadership team will work closely with his loved ones to be of service as they navigate this loss.
