It’s Main Street Week! This is a time to celebrate the contributions of community, small businesses, historic downtowns and commercial districts around the country. We are proud to be a part of the Main Street America Program to support and enhance our beautiful town. Our four committees (Outreach, Design, Promotions, and Economic Vitality) make things like historic preservation, community events, and business development possible in our historic downtown.

We will be hosting a pop-up event in Unity Park in honor of Main Street Week, this Thursday from 1- 3 pm. Join us for music, lawn games, connection opportunities and popsicles! Learn about what’s happening with our programs and all about the Main Street America movement.

It’s World Bicycle Day and today we are highlighting The ReCycle Shop, located on Main Street in historic downtown Ellensburg and a town staple since 1971. Looking for a new bicycle? Or need a repair? The ReCycle Shop is your stop! Not only could you get a brand new, high quality bike at this establishment, but they can BUILD you a bicycle. They factor in your anatomy, goals, and aesthetic taste to create you a custom ride. If you are new to cycling, they use their expertise to help prep you with safety tips and best practices.

Some fun facts about the ReCycle Shop is that they do trade-ins on children's bicycles, to keep your kid riding as they grow! The shop also supports our local Roller Derby team and a customer can find skating gear in the front of the shop.

Ellensburg is a bike friendly town, with established bike lanes, Bike Boulevard on 7th ave, and surrounding riding trails. Plus, there are a lot of projects in the works to expand biking accessibility and safety in our town.

Take advantage of the beautiful weather and go for a ride this week! 🚲

It’s National Bike Month! Did you know Ellensburg is a top bike-friendly town in the United States? There are plenty of bike racks throughout the downtown, so we suggest going for a nice solo or family ride to enjoy the weather.

Head to Unity Park TODAY from 10am - 1pm for bike activities and giveaways, hosted by the City of Ellensburg. Activities include free helmets and helmet fittings, bike maintenance tips, a youth Bike Rodeo, and lawn games!

This weekend, take a walk around the (wine) block 🍷 Ellensburg’s Downtown boasts several unique, top-notch wine spots and we suggest hopping around to try them all!

📍 Gard Estate Wines is an Ellensburg classic and favorite among locals. Their lively tasting room is located on Pearl Street and they have lots of seating space, light bites (including Cougar Gold Cheese!), and live music on the regular.

📍The Blue Room is a beautiful and brand new branch of The Grazing Table on 4th, located in Ellensburg Central Square on 4th Ave. They had their grand opening earlier this week! The Blue Room is a new dessert and wine bar that showcases a gorgeously renovated space, PNW local wines, in house desserts and curated bites and boards to pair with each wine.

📍You can taste the bright and spunky flavors of WineGirl Wines, Leavenworth, currently located at the bartop of Woody's Ellensburg in Ellensburg Central Square. Soon, you will be able to get a glass of WineGirl Wines while you shop for quality western fashion in Stella's Western Boutique which is moving into the old Sweet Spot spot. Stay tuned for the location transfer.

📍Bon Somm on Main Street is the place to go if you want an international wine experience! The interior is laden with European decor and rotating worldly wines.Your experience is thoughtfully curated with a carefully selected lineup of wines, guided by an expert sommelier who will walk you through each tasting and share insights about every pour. We highly suggest you pair the tasting with an intentionally prepared cheese plate.

📍In addition to lovely and bold rotating wines and some crisp beverages on tap, BRIX Wine Bar & Restaurant on 3rd Ave has a cool, urban atmosphere for hanging out with friends or loved ones. This is a great spot for dinner, as they have a full artisan menu of flatbreads, salads, desserts, and more.

📍Valo Ellensburg on Pearl Street is more than just an incredible selection of Washington grown and bottled wines, they are a venue for open mic nights, booked events, and private specialty wine dinners with gourmet food to pair with their wines. Be sure to try their dark cherry chocolate mousse.
