Central Washington Disability Resources advances the empowerment, inclusion, and wellness of all persons with disabilities through advocacy, community education, peer mentoring, and skill development so that they may realize independence and full participation in all areas of life. As an organization founded by and for people with disabilities, Central WA Disability Resources strives to understand

the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. Yakima, Grant, Chelan, and Douglas. This motivates us to achieve both immediate and long-term solutions when assisting individuals to identify and obtain housing, employment, medical care, assistive technologies, and the services needed to provide and maintain an accessible, barrier-free community. CWDR’s services are founded on and continued to be approached through a peer model, which addresses both the complex needs of individuals with disabilities and guides social and community change. CWDR is a non-residential center for independent living, providing assistance through independent living planning, peer support, advocacy, information, and referrals. Our commitment to you

Since 1981, CWDR has enhanced our communities through advancing the empowerment, inclusion, and wellness of all persons with disabilities through advocacy, community education, peer mentoring, and skill development so that they may realize independence and full participation in life.

Good afternoon lovely people.

The general election will be here in a few months, so we have time to register to vote. Or update your address if you have moved recently.

If you are not registered to vote, now is the best time to do it. It can be done online or through the mail, and even in person at your local city hall at times.

Online link: https://voter.votewa.gov/portal2023/login.aspx

By mail you’ll need to print the form, fill it out, and mail it to your state election office. You’ll need access to a printer and a postage stamp.
The form can be found here: https://vote.gov/register/washington

Automatic Voter Registration: If you get a Washington state enhanced driver license or enhanced ID, election officials will automatically register you to vote or update your existing record.

For any questions, feel free to call, email, or submit an information request on our website.

Good afternoon, cool people.

As proclaimed by the Governor, [https://governor.wa.gov/sites/default/files/proclamations/26-03%20-%20Wildfires%20-%20Burn%20Ban.pdf], there is a statewide burn ban.

Important information like this can go undetected at times by the public, so it is important to check websites like https://dnr.wa.gov/ (The Department of Natural Resources) or https://ecology.wa.gov/air-climate/air-quality/smoke-fire/burn-bans (The Department of Ecology)

Although it's cooling down a little, it is still fire season. When going camping, ensure you do not start a fire during open burn bans. If there is no burn ban in effect and you start a campfire, ensure you safely put it out with water or soil. Make sure there are no embers burning before you leave as well.

For any questions, feel free to call, email, or submit an information request on our website.

Good evening beautiful people.

We would like to share some information about the stages of Alzheimer's.

From: https://www.alz.org/alzheimers-dementia/stages

"Early-stage Alzheimer's (mild) In the early stage of Alzheimer's, a person may function independently. He or she may still drive, work and be part of social activities. Despite this, the person may feel as if he or she is having memory lapses, such as forgetting familiar words or the location of everyday objects."

"Middle-stage Alzheimer's is typically the longest stage and can last for many years. As the disease progresses, the person with Alzheimer's will require a greater level of care."

"In the final stage of the disease, dementia symptoms are severe. Individuals lose the ability to respond to their environment, to carry on a conversation and, eventually, to control movement."

For any questions, feel free to contact us at:

Buenas noches, gente maravillosa.
