Central Washington Disability Resources advances the empowerment, inclusion, and wellness of all persons with disabilities through advocacy, community education, peer mentoring, and skill development so that they may realize independence and full participation in all areas of life. As an organization founded by and for people with disabilities, Central WA Disability Resources strives to understand

the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. Yakima, Grant, Chelan, and Douglas. This motivates us to achieve both immediate and long-term solutions when assisting individuals to identify and obtain housing, employment, medical care, assistive technologies, and the services needed to provide and maintain an accessible, barrier-free community. CWDR’s services are founded on and continued to be approached through a peer model, which addresses both the complex needs of individuals with disabilities and guides social and community change. CWDR is a non-residential center for independent living, providing assistance through independent living planning, peer support, advocacy, information, and referrals. Our commitment to you

Today, our Executive Director had the opportunity to attend the Central Washington Conference for the Greater Good: Forward Together in Toppen*sh.
The conference brought together nonprofit leaders, community organizations, and advocates committed to strengthening our communities through collaboration and civic engagement.
A highlight of the day was listening to a thoughtful conversation between Steve Hobbs, Washington Secretary of State, and Nichole June Maher, CEO of the Inatai Foundation, as they discussed Forward Together: Nonprofits, Civic Life, and Community Voices.
CWDR values opportunities to learn, connect, and engage in conversations that help strengthen community partnerships and ensure all voices—including those of people with disabilities—are represented and heard. We look forward to bringing these insights back to the communities we serve.

Hoy, nuestra Directora Ejecutiva tuvo la oportunidad de asistir a la Conferencia del Centro de Washington “For the Greater Good: Forward Together” en Toppen*sh.
Este evento reunió a líderes de organizaciones sin fines de lucro, defensores comunitarios y colaboradores comprometidos con fortalecer nuestras comunidades a través de la participación cívica y el trabajo conjunto.

Central Washington Disability Resources is excited to announce that our Second Annual Empowerment Gala will take place on Saturday, May 15, 2027!

Join us for an unforgettable evening as we celebrate empowerment, inclusion, and the incredible impact our community makes in the lives of people with disabilities across Central Washington. The gala will feature inspiring stories, community recognition, fundraising activities, and opportunities to connect with others who share our vision of a more accessible and inclusive future.

📅 Date: Saturday, May 15, 2027
📍 Location: Yakima County (exact venue and address will be announced at a later date)

As part of our commitment to serving the communities across our region, we plan to rotate the location of our gala each year among the five counties we serve—Yakima, Kittitas, Grant, Chelan, and Douglas Counties—so that we can continue building connections and celebrating the impact of our work throughout Central Washington.

It causes hard-to-control seizures and other challenges that can affect learning, development, movement, and daily life. Symptoms often become more difficult over time and can impact individuals and their families throughout their lifetime.

El síndrome de Dravet es una forma rara y grave de epilepsia que comienza durante la infancia.
