We loved visiting Karyn Jones’ 3rd-grade classroom at Cleveland Elementary as students explored our Grade Level Certified (GLC) Forces unit!

Through hands-on investigation, students are learning how pushes and pulls affect the motion of objects, seeing firsthand how force can change speed and direction. This lab helps turn abstract concepts into real experiences as students test ideas, make adjustments, and learn through trial and error.

It’s a great example of how hands-on science builds deeper understanding and critical thinking.

Blast off at Jimtown Elementary!

Second graders launched into Rockets and Flight — exploring force, motion, and what makes things lift off. Through hands-on testing and real experimentation, students saw science soar right before their eyes.

Curiosity was high. Rockets were higher.

In Ms. Ashley Kiehl’s 3rd grade classroom at Mary Daly Elementary, students are bringing our Grade Level Certified (GLC) Forces unit to life through hands-on exploration.

As students investigate pushes and pulls, they’re discovering how forces impact the motion of objects—testing ideas, making observations, and learning through each attempt. What stands out is how naturally curiosity takes over, with students asking questions, trying new approaches, and building understanding through experience.

With GLC’s ready-to-use materials and structured supports, students are able to take the lead in their learning while teachers guide meaningful, inquiry-driven exploration.

Thank you, Ms. Kiehl, for creating such an engaging classroom environment and for bringing GLC to life for your students!
