From one of our GOAT’S seriously Deb K. The greatest. Volunteer Extrodinair!
“It's Thursday so you know what that means! We had almost 40 guests come through CCS tonight.
Our friends at Specialized staffing showed up again to help out. They were helping our guests choose what items they wanted and helping to stock shelves.
We had two guests come through tonight with a specific request, one has no electricity right now and one is staying at a hotel. They asked if we had a can opener. Luckily Michael had one to give each of them. They weren't fancy they were just the cheaper ones you find at Dollar tree or somewhere. So yes, we could probably use some more of those.
Nothing too outstanding tonight, a lot of grateful guests. The frozen items I was handing out tonight
Included two bags of fish sticks, two bags of frozen green beans and 2 lb of hot dogs. More than one of our guests were trying to decide which one they wanted and when I told them they get the whole
bag they were very excited! Fish sticks and hot dogs are very kid friendly! They could also get three dozen chicken eggs tonight not just duck eggs, we also had dry beans, people were planning on making pots of ham and beans. Everybody seemed happy with the assortment we could give them mentioning that this will keep everybody fed for the next week or so.
Head up town this weekend to check out the light show and the ferris wheel!! Live bands and food trucks too! Sounds like a party! Get out and enjoy the good weather.
Thanks for your support so we can keep supporting our neighbors!”
