Unwanted horses are a major issue in the industry that no one likes to talk about.

Good luck with surgery little Riff!

Today is the big day! We’re headed to CSU with Riff and his mom, Cadence.

Riff came to us with a fracture of his first phalanx (P1) that had damaged his growth plate. His leg healed incorrectly, leaving it crooked and putting his future at risk. Without intervention, his options for a comfortable, healthy life are very limited.

Because Riff is growing so quickly, today’s CT scan is an incredibly important step. It will give the surgeons a detailed look inside his leg, allowing them to create a 3D model, evaluate his surgical options, and determine whether surgery can correct his leg and give him the best possible chance at a normal, healthy future. 🐴💕

We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated toward Riff’s care, and especially to The Jasper Project for their incredibly generous support. Your kindness is giving this little guy a chance.

Please send all the good thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes Riff’s way today! We’re hoping for some good news.

Mark your calendars! 🐴 The Jasper Project Benefit Show is happening Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Summer Haven Stables (39681 Swift Creek Circle, Elizabeth, CO).

Schooling starts at 8:00 AM, show starts at 10:00 AM —OUTDOOR ARENA ONLY! Indoor arena will be closed .

We've got classes for everyone: leadline, walk/trot, pile of poles, x-rail, 2', stirrup, and jumpers at any height you want to try. Costumes are welcome in leadline!

Office fee is $15, class fee is $25, and every dollar raised goes to The Jasper Project, our nonprofit "Hospice for Horses." Don't miss the silent auction at the show office, too.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to our friends, Bri and Kennen with The Jasper Project, and to Bri’s mom, Marianne Graf.

The Jasper Project is an essential nonprofit that helps horse owners with end-of-life expenses when the hardest decision needs to be made. They have helped us with the financial expenses for many of our beloved horses.

When Bri heard that, without Riff’s surgery on his crooked leg, we might be facing one of those most difficult goodbyes, she immediately wanted to help us avoid that. She hoped that by contributing to some of the surgery expenses, she could help give Riff the chance at a long, happy life this young foal deserves.

Yesterday Bri and Kennen came out to meet Riff and his mom, Cadence, and brought us a $4,100 check towards Riff’s life-changing surgery. To say we are blown away by their kindness and generosity is an understatement.

We are truly blessed to have so many amazing people standing alongside us to offer this sweet little guy his best chance at a long, happy life. Thank you to Bri, Kennen, Marianne, and The Jasper Project, for making a difference!

The Jasper Project is expanding our mission! Moving forward, we are not only going to help hospice horses in need… but also assist rescues with the financial assistance they need to give horses a better outcome in life.
Please consider donating to our cause to help little baby Riff. He is in desperate need of surgery to have a future ahead of him. Without it he will more than likely need to enter into our hospice care. Our friends at Terolyn Horse Rescue are faced with an enormous bill to get this guy comfortable. Any support from the JP team would be much appreciated!
