Last night, Board President SaraBeth attended the 35th anniversary open house for Johnson County Community Foundation. Our Education Foundation has been a recipient of start up funding and two grants because of the generosity of the foundation and donors. This funding allowed us to provide teachers with grants and new teachers with supplies to build their classrooms last year. JCCF also awarded scholarships to two outstanding students! Thanks for helping Johnson County thrive, JCCF! 🩵💚

Teachers and school leaders are invited to sign up for Aspire Johnson County annual teacher fieldtrips taking place on June 30th & July 14th to get a better understanding of the career paths offered in local government and legal/ public safety careers in the Johnson County region. Educators and school leaders that take part will receive a $25 Walmart gift card and a letter for 4.5 hours of PGP points (by request).
Quotes from educators that have attended in the past: ” It was a wonderful experience to not only learn about the different companies but to hear what they’re needing in their workforce.” “Confirmed the notion that some positions require degrees and some do not. Employers are willing to help associates attain further education/credentialing if underlying skills, aptitude, and attitude are there.” I felt that going to more than one field trip helped give greater perspective to the labor force in general. I hope you keep offering trips to multiple industries.”

The Foundation awarded 2nd grade teacher, Tori Ratti, funds to purchase the Flat Stanley series for her class. We received pictures of their presentation and this wonderful note from Mrs. Ratti:
"We are so thankful you allowed us the opportunity to do this project! We really enjoyed every part from the writing, addressing mail, and even geography lessons! We have been able to make school a fun place to be and learning exciting!"

Next round of grant applications are now open and close on May 31.

Looking forward to seeing the work of our talented students!

Wednesday evening, Board Members SaraBeth Drybread, Brian Ingels, and Dave Walden attended a gathering with surrounding district Education Foundations to learn about endowments, best practices, and share information about successes and challenges. Fortunate to have dedicated community members serving and supporting teachers, staff, and students in our region!
Thanks to Greenwood Education Foundation for hosting and Beau Jackson, Managing Director, Modern Woodmen of America for the dinner and presentation! 📚📈

Attended the East Side Art Show last night and wow—what a display of talent from our little Lancers!
🎨 Your Education Foundation was honored to support the materials and supplies to help make this happen.
It was fun to see families participating in the interactive art tables and showing off their creations.
Grant cycle opens for the start of the 2026-2027 school year in May!

Great to see another philanthropic partner-The Edinburgh Delta Sigma Chapter of Tri Kappa-there, too!
