🍧 A Sweet Day at Sheriff’s Camp! ☀️

Today, The Hub Porter County had the privilege of sponsoring the Kona Ice Truck for the amazing kids attending the Porter County Sheriff’s Camp!

There’s nothing better than seeing smiling faces, colorful snow cones, and a community coming together to support our youth. We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Porter County Sheriff’s Office and help make camp just a little sweeter.

Thank you to everyone who works so hard to create a safe, fun, and memorable experience for these campers. We’re honored to be a small part of it!

At Hub Porter County, we believe prevention starts with connection, and events like this help strengthen the relationships that make our community safer and healthier.

One of the greatest strengths of Porter County is the willingness of our community partners to come together for a common purpose.

Today’s HUB Coalition of Porter County meeting was an outstanding example of that collaboration.

We were honored to welcome Sgt. Todd Kobitz and K-9 Jax from the Valparaiso Police Department. Sgt. Kobitz provided a fascinating look into the work they do every day to protect our community, while Jax quickly became everyone’s favorite with his incredible personality, energy, and professionalism. It’s safe to say he stole the show!

A special thank you to Valparaiso Police Chief Andrew McIntyre for allowing two of his finest—Sgt. Todd Kobitz and K-9 Jax—to spend time with our coalition today.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Marilyn Thomas and the team from Harsha Behavioral Center/Recovery Center for sharing the life-changing work they do to help individuals and families find hope and recovery. Their commitment reminds us that building a healthier community requires compassion, partnership, and unwavering dedication.

Whether it’s law enforcement protecting our neighborhoods or recovery professionals helping people reclaim their lives, each plays an essential role in making Porter County a safer, healthier, and stronger place to call home.

Thank you to all of today’s presenters for your time, your service, and your commitment to our community. The HUB Coalition is grateful for partners like you who continue to make a meaningful difference every single day.

Today, Hub Coalition Porter County was proud to be part of the Porter County Health Department’s Summer Health Fair—a wonderful event that brought together organizations, families, and community members with a shared commitment to health, wellness, and supporting one another.

Events like these remind us of the strength of our community and the importance of working together to create healthier, safer, and more connected neighborhoods. We were grateful for the opportunity to meet so many residents, share information about our work, and learn about the valuable resources available throughout Porter County.

One of the highlights of the day was spending time with several of the therapy dogs, whose presence brought comfort and joy to attendees of all ages. We were also honored to welcome State Senator Ed Charbonneau to our booth and appreciated the opportunity to discuss the importance of community partnerships and public health initiatives.

Thank you to the Porter County Health Department for hosting such a successful event and to everyone who stopped by to connect with us. Together, we continue building a stronger, healthier Porter County for all.
