We had the best time serving a meal to people in our community.

Thank you so much to Baptist Children's Home for providing dinner at the Unity Cafe last night!

For anyone looking to support the Cafe through in-kind donations, we are in need of plastic utensils, napkins, paper plates, and lemonade mix. Thank you to all who continue to help us serve!

Our Diaper Drive starts TODAY for Homes of Compassion in our Valparaiso Office!

"Homes of Compassion offers help by providing temporary, loving care for your child with a Care Family. The family will welcome your child into their home, giving you time to resolve the challenges in your life. When you are ready, your child will return to your home."
You don't need to be a client to participate! We'd love to see the community rally around to care for these little ones.

*Homes of Compassion currently has no Size 4 or Size 5 diapers and is running low on wipes.

Bringing Hope this Christmas!

For Christmas this year Homes of Compassion was able to bless eight families with Christmas gifts because of your generosity. Five of the families met at Greater Grace Church in Merrillville for a nice time of coffee, pastries, gift pickup, present wrapping, encouragement, and prayer. Helping in this tangible way is something we look forward to each year for our families that we've worked with. We truly felt blessed to get to serve in this way thanks to Greater Grace Church, Bridgepoint, Bethel Bible Church, Jordan Family Chiropractic, and Indiana Allergy/Asthma!

Yesterday, we spent time decorating and preparing for our very own Winter Wonderland. We are so excited! In less than 48 hours, our church will be filled with Christmas cheer and love as we celebrate and give back to our community. There will be games, food, drinks, hot chocolate, gifts, photos with Santa and more. Tell a friend to tell a friend 💙🎄!

Winter is here, and we are restocking our Homes of Compassion Clothing Closet. This resource is a blessing to the families and children that we serve in Porter, Lake, and LaPorte counties. Some winter clothing and shoe sizes that we most need include girls' infant 9 & 10c shoes, as well as girls' size 11-1 boots and sneakers. We also need boys' infants' size 5-10c and size 11 and 1 winter boots and sneakers. Lastly, we are asking for 3t & 5t girls winter clothing and size 8-14 in boys winter clothing. Please bring, or have your donated items delivered to our home office: 354 West Street, Valparaiso, IN, 46383.

One Caring Adult Can Make a Difference in a Child's Life

Recently, 6 more B*H staff members received the 18-hour Advanced Trauma Competent Care Training provided through Trauma Free World. Our staff learned how important connection is for a child and looking at behavior through a trauma informed lens.

Kortney fills a vital role at Homes of Compassion and excels at it!

Kortney connects with service providers in the area so that our clients have access to the many resources that they may need. She helps parents feel empowered and capable of achieving their goals for themselves and their children.
Kortney provides compassionate support to families in a time of uncertainty. She works passionately to be sure that families have their needs met.

Craig is a great asset to the Homes of Compassion Team. Craig's main responsibility is making sure our financial needs are met by processing and distributing funds. We are thankful for the individuals and churches that support B*H! Craig has been passionately serving at B*H for the past eight years.

He is always willing to go above and beyond to support the ministry!

Meet One of Our Care Families!

Kirby, Ellen, and their children have been faithfully serving with Homes of Compassion since August of 2022! As a family, they enjoy being outside, traveling to see other family members, and just spending time together. Their favorite part of serving with Homes of Compassion is being able to serve together as a family and supporting the moms who choose life. Kirby and Ellen feel that they have been blessed and want to be able to share what God has given them.

We are so thankful for this family and their willingness to open up their home and serve others.

Homes of Compassion had the privilege of attending the Schererville Parks Touch-A-Truck event this past Saturday. We enjoyed interacting with our community and handing out popsicles and bubbles to children.
