On Sunday, December 3rd. the FDNY Honor hosted our annual Holiday Family Brunch at Russo's on the Bay!

Chief Currao, FDNY Chief of Training, joined us for the day and was able to say a few words on behalf of Commissioner Kavanagh and Chief Hodgens.

A huge thank you to Louise O'Connor, Buddy Ducalo, and all of our volunteers for all of their help in putting everything together for the families.

A special thank you also to Kenny B Jammin, Hotdog and the FDNY Fire Safety unit and of course Russo's on the Bay!

Santa came down early from the North Pole to check on all the boys and girls and even helped sing a song or two. The dance floor was packed, the gifts were given out, and the faces were painted!

If you went away hungry, it was your own fault. The food was amazing as always! Thank you Mr. Russo and your amazing staff.

We hope to see everyone again this time next year on December 1, 2024, if not sooner.

May God bless the men and women of the FDNY, and let us NEVER FORGET our loved ones who were lost in the line of duty protecting the City of New York and their families.

On September 27, 2023, the FDNY Honor Legion celebrated our 40th Anniversary and 19 Induction since our formation in 1983. The Honor Legion inducted 21 new members, including Jack Hodgens, Chief of Department who received a Class III meritorious citation in the early 1990’s while working in Ladder 11.

The Honor Legion also awarded the Commissioner William M. Feehan lifetime achievement award to Roman “Buddy” Ducalo, for all of his continued dedication to the FDNY. The Honor Legion also presented the Captain Bob Farrell Humanitarian Award to retired Deputy Chief Jay Jonas for his continued dedication and service to the FDNY in so many ways in both education and history.

Congratulations to all of the inductee’s and to both Buddy Ducalo and Jay Jonas!
