While epilepsy is at our core, it no longer fully describes who we are and what we do.

The EPIC Family of Human Service Agencies is comprised of EPIC Long Island, Epilepsy Foundation Long Island, & South Shore Guidance Center, offering a wide range of in-home community & site-based services while providing education, advocacy, & support. We are not only specialists in epilepsy, but also in the care and treatment of those with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.

Since 1996, FORA (formerly The Corporate Source) connected individuals with disabilities to meaningful employment by partnering with organizations that expect both performance and purpose. FORA provides job evaluation, training, placement and supports for individuals with disabilities.

In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, EPIC's Self Advocacy group invited FORA to make a presentation on their services to Program Without Walls individuals. The individuals were engaged; they asked questions about job training and placement; they participated in mock interviews and expressed their excitement about the prospects of working.

Michael Vitaliano is a valued participant in our Program Without Walls. Known for his outgoing personality, Michael enjoys connecting with the many friends he has made through the program. He takes pride in volunteering at a variety of community worksites, with ShopRite being a favorite. There, he enjoys organizing and stocking shelves while contributing to the team and serving the community.

Michael especially enjoys opportunities to express his creativity and energy through karaoke and dancing, two of his favorite activities. He is also an active member of the EPIC Dreamers Drama Club at our Site-Based program, where he continues to build confidence, develop new skills, and showcase his talents on stage.

Looking ahead, Michael hopes to secure a position at Stop & Shop, a goal that reflects his strong work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to make a contribution to his community. His enthusiasm, dedication, and social spirit make him a wonderful part of the program and a joy to be around!

✨ Creativity was in full bloom at our Day Hab program! 🎨🧩

Participants spent the day exploring their imaginations, expressing themselves through art, and turning a simple creative block activity into something uniquely their own. Their colorful and creative designs reflected the individuality and talents of the artists behind them.

We love seeing creativity, confidence, and self-expression shine through activities like these. 💙

Caught Being EPIC: Allen Siegel, Assistant VP of Day Hab Program and Transport

Allen was nominated for the kindness and inclusiveness he demonstrated during a recent event. He helped ensure residents could attend and enjoy the activity, creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone felt at home.
