There is a good chance of rain tonight. If it looks like it will be raining at 5PM, we will postpone tryouts to Wednesday evening - the weather looks much better. We will send an email by 3:30 regarding tryouts so please be aware. Most likely it will be raining so at this time, plan on Wednesday at the same times. The East Lansing Soccer Club will be hosting tryouts on Monday June 15th and Tuesday June 16th at the East Lansing Soccer Complex. The tryouts are to determine if your son or daughter will be placed on a CASL or an Eastside team.

CASL is a more select league and Eastside is our recreation league. We encourage every player to tryout but if a player does not tryout, they will be placed on an Eastside team. Those that attend tryouts will be placed based on their skill level.

Every player gets placed on a team and every player should be registered before tryouts. Here is the link for registration

Coaches

If you are interested in coaching, please attend tryouts and you will evaluate the players to form your team. If you currently have an Eastside team and would like to move to CASL, please let your team know about tryouts and plan on evaluating players.

You will evaluate all players in the age group and select the best players for your team. Please arrive 10 minutes early if you plan on coaching. If you are not returning as a coach next season, please attend tryouts to assist with evaluations

*** SUMMER SOCCER - ARCHER TROJAN COMMUNITY SOCCER CAMP ***

Headed up by the East Lansing High School boys and girls varsity soccer coach, Jeff Lyon, the camp is directed following the example set by the former ELHS championship coach, Nick Archer, and is East Lansing’s premier soccer camp. Campers will receive instruction from former and current ELHS players.

Participants at all levels will enjoy a challenging and rewarding experience that will help them gain an understanding of teamwork and sportsmanship; learn the game of soccer; and develop age-appropriate skills—in a safe, positive, nurturing environment. All of the camps are held at the East Lansing Soccer Complex.

Morning sessions are an introduction to soccer. Campers entering grades 1-4 and 5-8 will learn the rules, fundamentals and beginning-level skills with group and individual instruction.
Evening sessions are for grades 9-12 and are designed to challenge intermediate players to build on their skills; provide group and individual instruction; and prepare students for interscholastic play. Goalkeeping instruction will be provided.

East Lansing Soccer Club is offering a **free Goalkeeper clinic for the entire club this Thursday May 14th** from 6:30-7:45pm. Players should bring a ball, water, goalkeeper gloves and normal goalie attire.

The clinic will take place at the East Lansing Soccer Complex Field S2, which is located inside the fences next to the varsity field. There is no cost for the clinic and all ages are welcome, boys and girls. Please have your player to the field by 6:15 so we can start at 6:30. Thank you .
