The CJ Buckley Regatta began in 2003 as a local regatta celebrating the life of CJ Buckley, a young promising sailor at Greenwich Bay Sailing Association (GBSA) who lost a valiant 16 month battle against brain cancer in 2002 at the age of 17. The regatta, which was started by CJ’s teammates in the summer of 2003 was in 2009 designated as the C420 Association National Junior Team Race Championship

and has grown to 150+ sailors from all over the US and Caribbean competing to be the National Junior Team Race Champion. The event continues to honor CJ's courage, spirit, determination, and his passion for team racing. All net proceeds of the event, along with donations fund scholarships to promising junior sailors sailing on Narragansett Bay througout their junior sailing tenure

Come enjoy dinner on the deck at East Greenwich Yacht Club hosted by Greenwich Bay Sailing Association () junior sailing program. Parents and Sailors are welcome! Burgers and Hot Dogs with all the cookout fixings will be served.

Boat drop off at Goddard Park begins after 6:30pm on Sunday so come before or after you unload your boat for a complimentary dinner at CJ Buckley’s home yacht club.

No RSVP required, donations are welcome and go directly to support Greenwich Bay Sailing Association Junior Program.
