Troop 1 East Greenwich Eagle Scout Patrick Gorham came back to the Underpass to complete more work extending his completed Eagle Project from last fall in order to fulfill hours for his EGHS Senior Project! Lots of removing vines from the chain link fence, cleaning up debris, and raking up leaves and brush. Way to go Patrick and thank you for your work!

Stay tuned for more improvements!

Congratulations to the newly elected board of HHNA for 2023 and a hearty thank you to everyone who showed up at tonight’s meeting, and especially to those who volunteered for board positions. Hoping we can work together along with the town to make positive change happen at the Underpass, and we hope the positive collaboration on improvements to the Underpass leads to exciting changes in the years to come.

The graffiti palimpsest continues, with more painting over recent graffiti, some of it having been better than others. We need to change the way we are thinking about the constant cleaning and repainting. We also need to think about how we can remove the chain link and the weeds/brush and remove probably decades worth of unsightly old bottles and garbage some of which has probably been there for decades. Possible Eagle Scout project for Troop 1 East Greenwich? Hint hint πŸ˜‰ East Greenwich Community Services & Parks Department

Just wanted to remind everyone who lives in the Hill and Harbour to attend tonight's "special meeting" of HHNA, where the future of the organization's involvement in improving the Underpass is at stake.

The meeting will be held at the EGPD Community Room at 7 PM tonight, and all residents and business owners are welcome to attend.

Despite the vague official description of the event that the leadership of HHNA is publicly giving online regarding "discuss[ing] the future" of the organization, the leadership has privately said that they intend to distribute the organization's remaining funds and permanently dissolve the organization, unless a new board can be nominated at this meeting.

We who stand in opposition to the current leadership over issues of mismanagement of the group intend to vote "no" on disbursement and dissolution, and "yes" to nomination and election of a new board that will take over the group for the remainder of 2023.

Please make sure you can be there to make your voice heard, in order to continue forward progress on the Underpass and other projects, events and advocacy that HHNA has led the way on in the past. If you cannot be there in person, please contact us at [email protected], and I can be sure to forward you a proxy form so that someone who is attending the meeting can vote on your behalf. Thank you in advance for your support!
