Summer is the most wonderful time to experience nature up close and personal! This bee came and sat next to me and gave me quite the show!

“Bees carry collected pollen in specialized structures on their hind legs called pollen baskets (corbiculae) by mixing it with nectar to form sticky pellets. After collecting pollen on their bodies, they use their legs to comb it onto their hind legs, where it’s moistened and packed into these baskets. Upon returning to the hive, the bees deposit the pollen, which is then used to feed larvae and provide essential nutrients for the colony”
You can watch the combing up close on the video! 🐝

Also found this beautiful praying mantis on the blue hydrangea (last slide)

“There is a rich and complex connection between science and music, from its mathematical structure to the physical way instruments create sound. Science even underlies our varying emotional responses to music in cultures worldwide.”
(Ruth Kirk, The science of music)🎶🎼🎵

My mother loved music and singing.
She was gifted vocally and performed in community theatre for years. She sang Edvar Grieg’s “Solveig’s Song” for her Miss Rhode Island pageant. She also played guitar and had us children sing in nursing homes and at a wedding.

Her mother played Chopin almost non-stop, as well as other classical composers, and as a child, I was blessed to be surrounded by instruments and music.

We are excited to offer this opportunity to the community!! Feel free to contact John Duffy directly or DM or email us.
