I would like to thank State Historian Dr. Matthew Pearce and others who were involved with the placement of a new historical marker east of Hugo, OK. This marker, a replacement, is about the history regarding Robert M. Jones’s (Choctaw) Rose Hill Plantation. Thanks to those who got the monument setup, people can once again get a glimpse into this part of history in southeastern Oklahoma.

I didn’t realize a new monument was getting placed until today when I saw it in the Oklahoma Historical Society’s staff newsletter. So, thank you again to Dr. Pearce and others involved with this wonderful work!

I apologize for this, its not completely related to our mission on this page. But it deserves recognition. For the kind gesture is something to be shared. Even though it's not a American Civil war issued original Enfield. It's still a 1854 marked original my beautiful wife just ordered for me. She has the same passion for history as I do. She understands that our mission, to teach history, is important. We use original relics and extremely authentic reproductions to show and to teach. We must not let our past be demolished and reinvented.
