🥚 Egg Distribution for Bryan County Seniors 🥚

The Ron Cross Senior Activity Center is pleased to continue offering eggs to eligible seniors in our community!

Beginning October 16th, 2026, eggs will be available for distribution during the following hours:

📅 Friday, October 16th: 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
📅 Monday, October 19th – Friday, October 23rd: 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Distribution is first-come, first-served while supplies last, so we encourage participants to arrive early. Caregivers are also welcome to pick up eggs on behalf of the individuals they assist.

Volunteer Opportunity!


Senior Call Companion Program

About: Senior Call Companions are volunteers who have agreed to contact a senior each week to provide positive conversation via the telephone. The length of each call will vary on the topics and subject matter discussed – some talk on the phone for an hour, others in 10-minute increments throughout the week. Phone companions are only responsible for making contact over the telephone. They do not visit in the home. Regular conversation with a phone companion gives them someone to talk to about opinions, thoughts and share life experiences.
Everyone needs friends, comfort, company, support and understanding. The companionship of a good friend provides needed camaraderie through many of life’s transitions. Too often, seniors become isolated at a time in their lives when they would most benefit from social contacts and assistance.
Our Senior Call Companion Program connects eligible seniors over 55 years of age, living in Bryan County Oklahoma.
*If you are interested in participating in this program and becoming a Senior Call Companion, please fill out a Volunteer Application on our website at www.bryancountyrsvp.com or swing by our office at 1421 Chuckwa Drive Durant, OK.

Who Can Volunteer?
Volunteers must be:
• at least 55 years of age or older
• willing and able to make weekly contact with their senior
• friendly, dependable and compassionate
• committed to making a positive difference in someone’s life
• a person of strong morals and ethics

What are the Benefits of Volunteering?
Volunteers choose to donate time to:
• assist in breaking down social barriers
• explore new interests and hobbies
• provide valuable community service that saves money
• develop new social skills
• better understand community needs
• help foster empathy
• promote personal growth
• heighten self-esteem
This program is NOT:
• a dating service
• available to those who live in memory care, rehab or assisted living facilities
